Valentine’s Day is long gone, which does not means it’s the only time to fawn over our loved ones, but to indulge in our favorite Cute anime couples.
Goo Ranking ask the Japanese community to rank the couples with the strongest bond.
There is a mix of old-school and modern cute anime couples, but things skew towards the shounen side.
Without wasting any time lets just dive into the cute anime couples list.
38. Hitagi Senjougahara and Koyomi Araragi From Bakemonogatari
Most love stories do not begin with the woman putting a stapler in the mouth of the man.
But, hey, everything has to start somewhere.
Senjougahara gave off yandere vibes for sure.
And I was almost sure she would do a Yuno, but I was surprised by how well their relationship worked.
She can be bossy, that is true. But it is never because they want to hurt each other, and it works out pretty well.
So not only was it an unexpected relationship, but it was also a damn good one.
37. Legoshi and Haru From Beastars
Let us get this out of the way: I am not a cat. But these two were incredible.
It was not even the kind of amazing that made you think, “Oh my god, they are so cute together” or “This could be us if you were playing.”
No, it was just very true to life.
Their friendship is not as simple as it seems. Even though no one wants it, the fight for power is very real.
And when side characters like my Dear Hitman and Juno were added to the mix, everything felt very heavy. I really liked it.
36. Yuu Otosaka and Nao Tomori From Charlotte
From the start, it was clear that there was something between these two. As the angel who likes to troll, Ayumi, said.
But I did not think it was a big deal.
For me to describe when these two became goals, I will have to talk about spoilers, so spoilers ahead.
After Yuu went crazy during the yandere junior episode, Nao secretly followed him around.
She did not stop him from going on his little rants because she knew he was mad at the world at the time. But just as he was about to cross the finish line, she swooped in and set him straight.
When you add that to the last scene of the show, you have two goals.
35. Ban and Elaine From The Seven Deadly Sins
Now that I think about it, Seven Deadly Sins had some pretty awesome partnerships. If only I could say the same thing about the graphics in Wrath of the Gods, cough cough.
I think I liked Ban and Elaine so much because they were so interesting both in terms of how they looked and what they were about.
I mean, you would not think that a tough guy like Ban would fall in love with a weak fairy.
But he does. And he really stands by what he believes, never letting up on his lost lover.
He was even willing to do the worst kind of betrayal to save her. So it was nice to finally see them together, even if it was just for a short time.
34. Meliodas and Elizabeth Liones From The Seven Deadly Sins
These two took the idea of “tragic lovers” to a level that was just crazy.
Just so you know, they are both cursed. Meliodas must keep living and keep falling in love with Elizabeth every time Elizabeth dies and comes back to life.
But even after everything that has happened, when Elizabeth gets her memories back, their love is still very strong.
So if you think long-distance relationships are hard, just think about what these two unlucky lovers have to go through.
33. Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki From Naruto: Shippuden
As soon as I saw how these two got together in a flashback episode, I really liked them.
It is a lot like the story of Naruto and Hinata. But it was easier because they both had some confidence and knowledge.
They were always moved by how much they liked each other. And the few times they take care of Naruto as a baby are so cute.
Also, the fact that they are great parents and great ninjas helps.
I can not help but cry every time I watch their last scene together.
32. Rintarou Okabe and Kurisu Makise From Steins;Gate
It makes sense that one of the best anime couples would come from a show as good as Steins;Gate.
This is because each of the roles is great on its own.
So when hints were dropped about a relationship, it was like the second coming of Jesus. It is not in your face and it does not happen right away.
Like a good wine, each show (or movie) makes it even better.
The best part was probably how Christina played the crazy scientist. It was so heartwarming and showed just how close the two had become.
31. Kamina and Yoko Littner From Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
There will be spoilers!
This may seem like a strange choice, since it was one of the shortest relationships in anime.
I do not think it was any less fun because of that, though.
It was so interesting to watch these two very strong people fall in love. Even more so because a tragedy happened soon after.
If you like a couple that stays together for a long time, go with Simon and Nia.
But for me, that one kiss and short conversation that Kamina and Yoko shared before the fight stood out more than anything else in the series.
30. Makoto Konno and Chiaki Mamiya From The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
I did not see this one coming at all.
Even more so with how it ends.
Makoto, Chiaki, and Kousuke made a great team because they always looked out for each other and had fun together.
So when Kousuke got a girlfriend and the other two were left alone, things got a little more interesting.
Sure, Makoto got away from the whole thing. But by the end of the book, she sees what a big mistake that was.
There is not enough time for them to be a real couple. But I think they would make a cute couple.
29. Mitsuha Miyamizu and Taki Tachibana From Your Name.
I guess these two are the best example of love I have seen recently, but I can not really call them a “couple.”
This is because they are kindred spirits who can only meet through magic.
Even though they did not really meet until the end of the series, their first meeting was so important.
I do not want to give too much away because you really have to see this movie for yourself.
So I will just say, “What a lovely couple! What a wonderful chain of events!”
28. Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima From Tokyo Ghoul
The only thing that kept me watching the last season was this relationship, if I am being honest.
At first, Touka was a total badass and looked out for Kaneki. Things got interesting when the roles were turned around.
When the table forgot it was a table, things got weird.
When Haise and Touka “meet” for the first time, it did lead to an amazing scene.
When things were really bad, it was Touka who gave Kaneki the strength to go above and beyond.
And in the world of shounen, that is the biggest way to say you love someone.
27. Taiga Aisaka and Ryuuji Takasu From Toradora!
It is a general rule that if you manage to fall in love with a tsundere, it will be great. At least for those who watched.
And Taiga is the queen of the tsundere.
Not because she is the most likely to get violent. But more because she is as mentally stuck as anyone can be.
So it was cute to see her open up to a nice guy like Ryuuji (not the Reddit version).
It was so much fun to see how hard they both tried to be people who could be loved and who could be loved by each other.
I would say it made me cry just the right amount.
26. Suzumiya Haruhi and Kyon From The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Do not get me wrong: Haruhi was an attractive girlfriend. She did things on the spot, was in charge, and looked great in a bunny outfit. she was a lot of work, though.
I think that is how Kyon felt, too. But instead of making him turn away from God, it brought him closer to God, just like a religious experience during a time of great trouble does.
Even though there was no action on screen, which might have been for the best since Haruhi’s wishes are like law,… Still, it is pretty clear that they do end up together, which is fine with me.
25. Yuri Plisetsky And Victor Nikiforov From Yuri On Ice
It is time to include you, kid. And I am not saying that because I want to include this pair.
Instead, I am saying that thank God we finally have a couple worth talking about.
Yuri and Victor.
Both of them are very passionate about what they do and always try to get better. They also make sure their partner keeps up.
It is always fun to see this kind of flirty competition between two people, because it makes their scenes together very dynamic and exciting.
Now all we have to do is wait for society to accept two men kissing, and we will have even more serious items for this list.
24. Kaori Miyazono and Kousei Arima From Your Lie In April
It is too bad that the world had to be so dark for these two to find each other.
But sometimes life is like that.
Their differences are what make them such a good match.
Even though they both had problems that no child should have to deal with, their responses were very different.
Kousei gave up what made him happy. Kaori, on the other hand, gave up everything except what made her happy.
So it was beautiful to see her make Kousei smile, and for Kousei to help her really enjoy life.
23. Kazuto Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki From Sword Art Online
No matter what you say, Kirito and Asuna’s story is now more believable than ever.
You know, the part where you meet someone online, fall in love, adopt a fake child, and do other things that are not suitable for work.
And it is to their credit that their love did last after they left the imaginary world.
I mean, Kazuto saved her from some of the creepiest people in two different worlds.
Maybe it will not be hot. But it feels comfortable and safe.
And that is all I need from a series sometimes.
22. Kyou Souma and Tohru Honda From Fruits Basket
I can not deal with these two, man. They are way too cute to look at.
On paper, they have a boring partnership.
Even though Kyou is a bad boy, he has a soft spot for Tohru, who is like a ray of light and will make everyone happy.
But the way the characters work together is so good that the fact that it is all a cliché does not matter at all.
You will probably want to go to their wedding more than your own. I do not know man, they just hit differently.
21. Takeo Gouda and Rinko Yamato From My Love Story
The cartoon is called “Never Judge a Book by Its Cover.”
There are so many cute parts.
Takeo, my boy, is a real worrywart who just wants everyone to be happy.
But he kept getting that terrible left swipe because of how he looked.
Until Rinko, being the sweet honey bun that she is, chose to give him even more kindness in return.
And, of course, some sweets.
Watching these two stumble over their words until they finally got the courage to say how they really felt was almost as good as seeing them finally get together and be happy.
20. Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Ootani From Lovely Complex
The idea for this show was so easy, but I can not think of anyone else who had done it before.
At least in a good way as a cartoon.
The woman in the story is tall, and the man is short.
Both are shunned because society likes the way things are for men and women.
So, to feel better, they fall into each other’s arms.
I like the story’s lesson the most, because Risa and Atsushi are such nice people.
And we can see that they are both capable of and deserve real love, no matter how they look.
I do not know, but I thought they were so cute together. I think that should get a high score.
19. Shirayuki and Zen Wistalia From Snow White with the Red Hair
If high school is not really your thing, this couple might be more your speed.
It is set up like a normal fairy tale, and the main character is a prince.
But the female hero is not just a girl who has problems with her father. She is a healer who has her own plans and goals.
And the prince is not a clean slate with money in the bank. He is a good friend who you can relate to (okay, no more songs).
And if the people are interesting on their own, they are even more interesting when they are together.
You could say that this show was so much better than the rest… I am sorry, but I just had to say it.
18. Sawako Kuronuma and Shouta Kazehaya From, From Me to You
I rarely understand why a character is famous, but this is one of those times.
Shouta is probably not perfect. But he is such a nice guy, and he does not let his fame make him a jerk.
Because of this, he tries to help Sawako, a girl whose social life was ruined because she looked like that girl from The Ring.
I really like how the show is put together because the two characters do not just fall in love out of nowhere. First, they become friends.
The way they feel changes from episode to episode. And they are so valuable.
17. Kyouya Sata and Erika Shinohara From Wolf Girl & Black Prince
Now, this show did two good things.
First, that people in high school can be really bad when they want to fit in.
Erika just lies about having a boyfriend to get some social points, but Kyouya was ready to blackmail the crap out of her.
The second thing they got right was that most of the time it is not because they want to be bad.
We can see that once a real bond was made, Kyouya lost a lot of that evil.
And he even turns into a good boyfriend.
Two out of two is, to say the least, a good score.
16. Isaac Dian and Miria Harvent From Baccano!
If I had to compare love to a fairy tale, these two would be it.
They have the same thoughts and feelings. Which is really something, given how strange they are in general.
Plus, they are the crime team who always have each other’s backs and can make any party more fun just by talking.
They sometimes made Baccano look like a very well-written comic. And since the show is about the mafia and killer train ghosts, you can imagine how fun they are.
They do not show much in terms of romance. But they do not really have to.
These two are the most powerful couple in the world. I am ready to stand by that statement until the day I die.
15. Arsène Lupin III & Fujiko Mine From Lupin the Third
Fujiko meets Lupin in the first episode when both are trying to steal the same treasure. Fujiko has a dream about marrying Lupin.
she is more willing to contain her feelings, Fujiko does have a love for Lupin. She is rarely wishing to fully reveal her affection except if she thinks one or both are dying.
14. Monkey D Luffy & Boa Hancock From One Piece
If Oda and One Piece do focus on character’s romantic relationships in future, Luffy will end up with Nami.
Quora User and Paola Yauri have indicated that it will be Boa Hancock because she is the one who loves Luffy and has already asked to marry him.
However, Luffy doesn’t have any feelings for her.
13. Inuyasha & Kagome Higurashi From Inuyasha
Inuyasha and Kagome almost kiss. During “InuYasha: The Final Act,” it is a big step in Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship.
At the start of the series, their relationship is still the same from where the show left off with Inuyasha in love with Kagome, but yet at the same time he is still in love with Kikyō.
12. Tatsuya Uesugi & Minami Asakura From Touch
Minami is the beautiful childhood girlfriend and for all intents, sister from next door who treats both of them as equals.
Society largely assumes Kazuya and Minami will become the perfect couple, including Tatsuya.
11. Ryo Saeba & Kaori Makimura From City Hunter
Kaori is in love with Ryo. Although in the beginning, it seems that he has no feelings towards her, as the series progress there are multiple hints of Ryo having feelings for Kaori.
Ryo’s skirt-chasing escapades rouse her wrath repeatedly throughout the series, resulting in his punishment with her mallet usually.
Although they frequently pick on fights or arguments, they actually form a great team together.
10. Edward Elric & Winry Rockbell From Fullmetal Alchemist
Winry is a teenage mechanic who often spends time with the central characters, brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who are childhood friends of hers.
Specializing in mechanical repair, specifically prostheses called automail, Winry services Ed’s replacement arm and leg.
9. Tadaomi Karasuma & Irina Jelavic From Assassination Classroom
The rest of the reward was handed back to Karasuma (representing the government) by Isogai (representing Class 3-E) as thanks for their support throughout the school year.
Seven years later, Karasuma has married Irina and is highly ranked in the Ministry of Defense.
8. Natsu Dragneel & Lucy Heartfilia From Fairy Tail
At the end of the anime, Lucy confesses how much Natsu and Fairy Tail have influenced her and lobbed the ball up for Natsu to confess his love which he drops.
But the two still band together for the 100 Years Quest spinoff, so they still have the opportunity to revisit their relationship status
7. Syaoran Li & Sakura Kinomoto From Cardcaptor Sakura
On the TV Tropes page, Tomoyo is listed as a Token Yuri Girl: Tomoyo Daidouji in Card Captor Sakura, though it was toned down a bit in the anime.
While Tomoyo is in love with Sakura, she notes that she is happy to be able to be with Sakura and does not require Sakura to love her back.
6. Izuku Midoriya & Ochako Uraraka From My Hero Academia
Deku does like Uraraka, most likely as a friend.
Even if he does have romantic feelings for her I myself don’t believe it will become a thing anytime soon.
Uraraka so far is the only one out of the two to say she likes Deku. Even then her feelings could change.
5. Ranma Saotome & Akane Tendo From Ranma ½
In the end, both Ranma and Akane knows that they love each other and almost got married until it was ruined.
Ranma recived a gift containing the water which can turns him back to normal from the guide but Happosai drank it all.
So basically, they weren’t married and Ranma is still half girl.
4. Kondo Isao & Tae Shimura From Gintama
Otae said that she would still love her husband “butthair and all”, which made Kondo instantly fall in love with her, even proposing to her on the spot!
Kondo continuously stalks Otae throughout Gintama and, despite it being a comical relationship, they do care for each other
3. Hajime Kindaichi & Miyuki Nanase From The Kindaichi Case Files
Miyuki was first featured in Episode 1 when she comes to scold Hajime for skipping classes, not studying, etc.
Her friends comment that why a excellent student like Miyuki should be friends with a slacker like him.
2. Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuuga From Naruto: Shippuden
My girl Hinata had to do a lot of work to make this happen.
Well, at least the sad version of work.
Even though Naruto is cool, he sure is thick.
So, when the ironically named Last movie finally came out, I was so happy to see these two finally get together.
I was even happier to see that Hinata learned to stand up for herself and be the calm voice in the house.
They only worked together. Two nice people with a lot of power had a child who is liked by everyone.
1. Shinichi Kudo & Ran Mouri From Detective Conan
While solving the code, Professor Agasa said he was glad to see Shinichi and Ran hang out together. It had been a while since the two of them got along.
