The anime show “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation” started airing in the Winter Season of 2021. It’s being drawn by “Studio Bind.”
Studio Bind is a branch of the animation studio “White Fox,” which is known for anime like “Re: ZERO-Starting Life in Another World,” “Goblin Slayer,” and “Stein; Gate.”
Bind studio was made just to make this light book into an animated movie.
It is a fantasy comedy anime with a pretty unique plot and idea. Rudeus is an old man who hasn’t had a job in 35 years. His story is told in the series.
He was kicked out of the house in the end. Rudeus dies in an accident when he is trying to save the life of someone else. In this dream world, his parents give him the name “Rudeus” when he is reborn as a baby.
Rudeus’s first thought in this world is to find forgiveness. To do this, he works on his skills and tries his best not to let down someone he cares about.
At a very young age, he learns how to do magic really well. He makes a lot of friends in this world, starting with “Sylph,” a little elf girl who lives next door, “Roxy,” a woman of a different race who is his teacher, and “Eris,” his cousin and his first student.
Rudeus’s home was destroyed in an accident, and everyone who was there at the time was sent to different parts of the world.
So, Rudeus’s life begins as he travels through a world he doesn’t know much about to find his parents and loved ones while keeping Eris safe.
This anime is made with a very high level of skill. The people who worked on this anime made up a new language just for it.
Everything about this anime is beautiful, from the way the world is made to how the characters are drawn. And yes, there are many Ecchi parts to it.
Here are 15 anime like Mushoku Tensei that you will most likely enjoy. Some follow the same magical plot, some follow the “reborn as a baby” plot, and some follow this anime’s great world-building.

15. Log Horizon
After the latest update to a VRMMO game, “Elder Tale,” 30,000 people got stuck in the game.
This is the first resemblance because, in a way, Log Horizon is an isekai just like Mushoku Tensei, but maybe with a much more unique twist.
Rudeus and Shiroe are both shy and hate losing, which is another thing they have in common. Both of them are thought to be weak at first, but they end up proving their worth by doing what they’re best at.
When they get into an isekai, their lives also change a lot for the better.
14. Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil)
Isekai-style anime shows are very popular right now. But only a small number of them can pull off being serious. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is a good example of one of these few unique shows. Youjo Senki is the name of another.
Youjo Senki starts with the idea of “sudden death in the real world and rebirth in a different world.” This time, though, a middle-aged man comes back as a girl born into a world of war and chaos.
As a self-proclaimed God, whom she calls “Being X,” forces her into this situation, she makes it her goal to find a comfortable new life. She also wants to get back at the God who brought her back to life.
She is cold and clever. She is a bad person and a monster. She is dead set on resisting and fighting against the person who calls himself God. Tanya Degurechaff is a little girl who has earned the nickname “Devil of the Rhine”
Youjo Senki is one of the few shows, even in the isekai genre, that is as clever as it is. Even though there are some funny parts, this show is mostly dark and sad. If you like isekai anime but want a change of pace and mood, this show is for you.
13. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)
How does it sound to come back as something other than a person? Would it bother you to turn into slime? You or anyone else might not want to be reborn as a slime, but don’t say anything until you’ve seen Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken.
In Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, a middle-aged man is stabbed and killed without ceremony, but when he wakes up, he is in a strange state that isn’t at all like death.
He wakes up in a strange place. He knows something has changed about him. He’s no longer a person. Squish, glob, goop, splat!
He has turned into slime, but it’s not just any slime. He has died and come back to life as a slime that can eat anything. He has a lot of room to grow.
Are you listening right now?
Well, you probably are after hearing all about the slime stuff. Like how the great slime in Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken eats and absorbs everything, you are about to go on a big and fantastic adventure like no other.
12. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation can be fun to watch, but what if I told you there’s an anime that’s just as fun but doesn’t take itself seriously?
Well, that show is none other than KonoSuba: God bless this incredible world!
A hikikomori N.E.E.T. dies a funny death and is sent to an RPG-like world by a clumsy goddess. He can bring just about anything he wants. Of course, Kazuma decides to take the goddess with him, which surprises and upsets her.
She has no choice, though. She has to go with him to the new world and join him on his crazy adventures and mishaps. No matter how crazy he acts, she has to help him beat the monster lord.
KonoSuba: May God bless this amazing place! is one of the most well-known comedy shows from the last few years. I can promise you that this is one of the funniest shows in the isekai universe.
11. Kenja no Mago (Wise Man’s Grandchild)
I’m starting to think that all you have to do to be “isekai’d” is get hit by a truck and die. It’s how most isekai shows are set up these days. Kenja no Mago is no different!
In Kenja no Mago, there is an orphan named Shin who knows everything from his past life. In his last life, he was hit by a truck. Now, he lives in a world where magic is real. Even better, his grandfather loves him a lot.
Shin can improve his magic and fighting skills because he knows things from his past life. But even though he is very strong, he still doesn’t have much common sense or social skills. This makes his grandpa send him to a magic school where he can learn about the world and how it works.
You should probably know that Kenja no Mago is not quite a top show. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. It’s best to watch it without much thought if you want a regular dose of isekai tropes and a few laughs.
Even though this show isn’t as good as Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, I think you should watch it for how simple it is and not take it too seriously. I think this show is a good example of what a basic isekai anime is like.
10. Full-Time Magister
A Chinese anime called Dongua that tells the story of “Mo Fan,” a normal teenage boy who is reborn in a world where magic is more important than science.
Mo has a poor father, just like he did in his past life. He also has a little sister who can’t walk. “Mo Fan’s” goal in this life is the same as it was in his last: to make a name for himself that will make his father happy.
Even though Mo isn’t very good at magic, he gets into a famous magic school. But when people find out about his bad life, they laugh at him.
But he is very good at magic, and as the story goes on, we see how our main character tries to make a name for himself.
In this new world, the main character wants forgiveness, just like in Mushoku Tensei, and he also gets pretty powerful.
9. The Misfit of Demon King Academy
If Rudeus was as powerful as the main character of this series, The Misfit of Demon King Academy would be like Mushoku Tensei.
It tells the story of “Anos,” a demon lord who is reborn as a baby (just like in Mushoku Tensei), but he can talk right away.
At two months old, he starts going to high school, where he is even stronger than his teachers and seniors. He wants to find the Hero who was reborn at the same time as him.
The anime has the same comedy and magical setting as Mushoku Tensei, and both have a main character who gets too strong as the series goes on.
8. Parallel World Pharmacy
“Kanji” is a world-famous medical doctor who is looking into a disease that killed his sister not too long ago. He wants to study so much that he doesn’t even sleep, so he dies from overwork and not getting enough sleep.
He comes back to life as a little boy named “Farma” in a dream world after he dies. His family is made up of aristocrats and doctors.
After looking around for a while, he learns that he is stronger than most people and can make any chemical or compound as long as he knows the formula.
But when his friends and family see this, they call him “The God of Health reborn.” Now, Farma has only one goal: to fix any disease he sees in people here so they don’t die like his sister did in his old world. This fantasy-pharmacy anime is pretty good, and it’s a lot of fun to watch.
7. Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles
The plot of this anime is about a high school student named “Haruto” who dies in a car crash. He is now reborn in another dream world as a little boy.
Haruto still remembers some things from his old world. He also knows who he is in this new world and that his name here is “Rio.”
He is reborn into a world where the people who killed his mother are holding a hostage and he is one of them.
So, as soon as he wakes up, he remembers that these thieves killed his mother, and he knows that he must kill them.
Haruto does just that, and the person he saves turns out to be a lady. After having trouble with the royal guards, he is given the chance to go to the royal school.
But since he is just a random commoner, things don’t go as planned, and the royal family students make things hard for him.
6. The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat
Like in Mushoku Tensei, the main character of this anime series dies and comes back to life as a baby in a new dream world.
It tells the story of the best assassin in the world, who is betrayed by his agency, dies in a plane crash, and is reborn by a goddess into the house of lords in a fantasy world.
The Goddess only gives him one goal: to kill the hero in this world. So, he dies and comes back to life as a boy in this new world, where he plans to kill the hero.
Soon, he finds out that his family has a past of being assassins. Since he has already been an assassin, his job is now easy.
So begins the life of our main character, a killer who plans to kill the hero in this new world by putting together a new team.
This anime is also a unique fantasy anime, both in terms of the art and the story. Also, the first song is a banger. And yes, the main character in both of these anime has a “Harem” of different girls.
5. To Your Eternity
It is based on the idea that an Orb comes to Earth and copies everything around it. This is similar to the idea behind Mushoku Tensei, which is about a man reincarnating into a new world.
First, it copies a piece of moss, then a stone, then a weak polar bear with its owner, and finally a boy waiting for his family in a cold country.
After his owner dies of cold, the polar bear follows him, and now he is looking for more people like him and learning how to be human and have a good soul.
Like Mushoku Tensei, this show has a great world-building, and the main character, the Orb, is traveling Earth, which is an unknown world, just like Rudeus.
4. Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms
“Maquia” is a young girl from a race that lives for hundreds of years, making clothes and staying away from humans their whole lives.
She feels lonely most of the time because there is nothing to do here except make clothes. One day, a nearby country attacks this island.
They want to take a young woman hostage so she can marry their king and have a child who lives a long time. During all this chaos, Maquia gets caught and is taken by surprise to the kingdom.
There, she meets a baby whose parents have died, leaving her alone. Maquia wants to care for this baby. It is a coming-of-age anime, like Mushoku Tensei, and it shows incest in a pretty good light, without doing anything wrong.
It’s a very beautiful anime with a great world design and real problems about how adopted kids relate to their parents.
One problem is that as the baby grows up, it starts to see Maquia as a woman because of how her race makes her stay young. This makes problems.
3. The Wiseman’s Grandchild
A story about a normal salaryman who dies in the real world and is reborn as a baby in another dream world, just like Mushoku Tensei.
He is found in the woods in a broken cart that just crashed. The old magician “Merlin” finds the boy and takes care of him. This kid is called “Shin” by Merlin.
Shin stays with him until he is a teenager and calls Merlin “Grandpa” when they are in the woods. When he turns 16, Merlin plans to send him to the city so he can go to college.
So begins Shin’s life. He will meet new people his age for the first time and share new feelings with them.
2. The Faraway Paladin
The Faraway Paladin anime series is about a man who is reborn in another world as a baby, but not to his parents like in Mushoku Tensei.
He is called by three ghosts, who teach him how to live the rest of his life and give him the name “Will.” Will learns about faith and basic manners from Marry, a female mummy spirit.
Blood, a male skeleton spirit, teaches him how to fight and defend himself, and Gus, an old ghost, teaches him how to use magic.
They raise him in a cave away from people. When Will is old enough, he will have to leave them and live a normal human life, away from these dead ghosts.
So, will “Will” be able to leave them one day and keep teaching what they have taught?
This anime has a beautiful story, and the side characters grow and change in a pretty good way.
1. Ascendance of a Bookworm
The main character of “Urano” is a young girl who loves to read and wants to be a librarian so she can read all the time.
She gets hired as a librarian, but then she has an accident and dies. When he wakes up, she is a little girl named “Myne” in an unknown time period.
She gets angry right away because there aren’t many books here. Since there aren’t any printing companies, everything has to be done by hand, and the only books are in the hands of lords.
So, our main character, a woman, begins her life. She wants to make books common in this world and open to everyone, no matter how important they are.
It feels a lot like Mushoku Tensei because both of the main characters learn from books when they are young and are interested in their new world.
