Adding nyan to every sentence with cat ears and talking cats, there’s an abundance of these furry creatures.
So today I am going to talk about some of the best anime cats in the anime universe that I personally like no cats girls saying nyan this time but plenty of human like cats and spawns of satan.
Lets begin the list of cute anime cats of all time without wasting any more time.
30. Kyou From Fruits Basket
Kyou is a high school boy, but when he gets angry, he changes into a cat. In the same way, Fruits Basket is about a family that is cursed by signs of the Chinese zodiac.
Kyou has the same fate as the cat, which means that his family doesn’t like him and calls him a monster.
Fans love his character all over again now that Fruits Basket is back on the air, and we’ll get to see more of him when the next season comes out.
29. Blair From Soul Eater
Taking into account where she lives, she is a completely normal cat. Blair is often the comic relief in Soul Eater, and most of the sexual and fan service jokes are either about her or about her.
Maka thinks she is a real witch at first because she often looks like a person. A naked human, because doesn’t that make sense?

Throughout the series this anime cats is seen wearing pink angel wings and snake attach to it.
Tōka Takanashi is allergic to cats and refuses to let Chimera to be near her.
At the end of season two Chimera gives birth to six kittens.
26. Morgana From Persona 5
While appearing to be a anime cats-like creature, Morgana emphatically insists to be a human, and sticks with the Phantom Thieves as he believes they’ll be able to help him discover his origins and regain his true form.
Despite this, sometimes he instinctively meows and self-grooms, being able to get used to his lifestyle as a cat easily. However, he demonstrates a number of qualities which are absent in ordinary animals – a sense of morality, empathy, and even style.
But even though Morgana’s intelligent, he’s shown to be out of touch with the modern world. This is conveyed through his unfamiliarity with technology, and his initial assumption that his knowledge on the Metaverse is supposed to be common sense.
25. Chi From Chi’s Sweet Home
Chi’s Sweet Home is a cute manga and anime that any cat lover will enjoy. It’s the story of how a family takes in a stray kitten. It’s like a slice-of-life anime about a cute kitten instead of kids at school.
Chi is great because the cat is a character that both adults and kids can love and enjoy. There are a lot of episodes of the anime, but they are all pretty short.
They are only three minutes long instead of the usual 20. But there are also people who like that.
24. Sorata From Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi
This cat is on our list just because it is cute. There is no plot, and the story isn’t really about the characters.
The fat one People who watch the anime “Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi” can’t stop oohing and aahing over an oreo-colored cat named Sorata.
People like Takaho and then, ten years later, Yokozawa and Hiyori take care of the cat. Sorata is an important part of the series because of this, but the cat doesn’t really change anything.
Just having this fluffy cat around has helped character growth and relationships in a roundabout way.
23. Nekotalia From Hentalia
Nekotalia originates from a strip in Hetalia Volume 3 and several images and webcomic strips by Hidekaz Himaruya in which the nations have cats which share similar personalities and features to them.
Some of these cats are owned by the nations they represent, however they all are referred to with “cat” following their nation’s name, seemingly to have them represent the nation as well.
The term Nekotalia derives from neko, the Japanese word for “cat” and talia, from Hetalia, the name of the base series.
22. Sakamoto From Nichijou
Sakamoto was just a normal cat before Nano and Hakase, two of the main characters in Nichijou: My Ordinary Life, found him and took him in.
When he was found, Hakase made him a scarf that made him able to talk. But this didn’t work the way they thought it would because Sakamoto sounded older and wanted to be treated with respect.
This makes his interactions with other characters even funnier, since some of them treat him like an old man and others make him mad by treating him like a regular cat.
He does enjoy a lot of things that regular cats like to do, but it’s funny to watch him try to act like he doesn’t so he won’t be treated like a regular cat.
21. Jiji From Kiki’s Delivery Service
Jiji dates back to 1989. He is with Kiki while she is learning how to become a witch. It is a common saying that a black cat is a witch’s pet, and people love it.
Whether you watch the Japanese or American version of Kiki’s Delivery Service, Jiji is pretty different.
In the Japanese version, the cat has a soft voice and is shy, cute, and careful. In the American version, he is played by a man with a sarcastic, talkative, and proud personality.
In the Japanese version, Kiki loses her ability to talk to Jiji, which is another difference. In the American version, she is able to do that again.
Hayao Miyazaki said that the cat was a symbol of childhood and innocence, and Kiki’s inability to talk to him was a sign that she was growing up.
20. Korin From Dragon Ball
You won’t be blamed if you think of Master Shifu from the movie “Kung Fu Panda.” As seen in “Dragon Ball” before everything went super-Saiyan, this next kitty-kat is a real kung fu master.
This immortal cat, who lives in a big tower, is the one who taught Goku how to fight.
Fair enough, the fight with Cell could have been completely avoided if this cat hadn’t given the group those stupid Senzu beans.
But then again, what fun would that be?
This soft, old, and wise cat is definitely canon in “Dragon Ball.”
Fans loved what he did for the story of the show and for Goku’s character arc.
19. Kaya From Ghost Stories
In the real world, you don’t do things like call up demons or accidentally give one to your pet cat.
The anime “Ghost Stories” is exactly what its name says it is. In this show, Kaya the kitty-kat gets a reverse exorcism without her knowledge. This makes her one of the funniest characters in the show.
Even though Kaya is often angry and tense, she is still funny and worth watching. In the English-dubbed version of this show, this cat rips out a few pages from the book about bad language.
Good thing the show came out in the early 2000s, when such bad language wasn’t a snowflake’s worst nightmare.
18. Baron From The Cat Returns
Baron Humbert von Gikkingen is his full name, and he is quite the gentleman. He’s also pretty magical, since he’s a statue that turned into a cat in an antique shop.
He first showed up in the movie Whispers of the Heart, but The Cat Returns was where he really made a name for himself.
He saves Haru from being forced to marry a cat, turning into a cat, and being stuck in the Cat Kingdom. Baron is more like a person than most of the other cats on this list.
He moves a lot like a person and wears clothes. He is mysterious, which is one reason why people like him so much.
17. Nekobasu From My Neighbor Totoro
Why have just a cat when you can have a bus-shaped cat?
This character is called the Catbus in everyday speech, and it shows up in the movie My Neighbor Totoro.
Mei and Satsuke are waiting for a normal bus when Totoro, a spirit of the forest, shows up.
The real-life bus is late, so Totoro calls his friend the Nekobasu to give them a wild ride to their destination and keep them out of the rain. It was made on purpose to look like Alice in Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat.
16. Kirara From InuYasha
Demons, like demon cats, were all over the show Inuyasha. Kirara was a cute little demon cat that went with Sango everywhere he went.
She was unique because she could change into a huge, flying saber-toothed demon. She looks like a cute little cat, but she is also a huge battle demon.
Kirara could never talk like some of the other cats on this list. When she was little, though, the sounds she made were cute, like a squeaky toy.
15. Arthur From Code Geass
He is a cat. So, that’s it. No magic, shape-shifting, talking, or demonic powers… Just an ordinary cat chilling out. We wanted to put him on this list just because of that.
That, and I think we could all use a break at this point in the article.
In the anime “Code Geass,” there was one time when Arthur took Zero’s mask and ran away. He ran all over the school, showing people who watch this anime what normal cats do in real life.
Some interesting cool-cat moments and the fact that he always bites Suzaku have made people like him even more.
14. Karupin From Prince of Tennis
Karupin sets a high standard for cuteness for all anime cats, so he deserves attention just for being so cute. He and Ryoma love each other so much that it’s hard not to want the same for ourselves.
This Catto loves his toys so much that he follows any character who is carrying one of his favourites.
Cuddle buddies haven’t seen anything amazing until they see Karupi and Ryoma taking a nap in one of the anime’s many amazing scenes.
13. Kuroneko From Trigun
The other cats on this list are not like Kuroneko. She doesn’t really add anything to the story and isn’t important to the plot of Trigun, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t an important and memorable part of the anime.
Kuroneko is in every episode of Trigun. Sometimes she only shows up once, and sometimes she shows up in more than one place.
Some of Kuroneko’s appearances are more obvious than others, but this makes it fun for people to look around more in each scene to see if they can spot her.
She often adds some humour, which can break the tension in more serious scenes or make an already funny moment even funnier.
12. Luna, Artemis and Diana From Sailor Moon
The Sailor Moon metaseries includes three different anime cats character who act as advisors to their respective owners.
Each has the power of speech, and bears a crescent moon symbol on his or her forehead.
The two older anime cats, Luna and Artemis, lived millennia before the main plot in the Moon Kingdom and acted as advisors to Queen Serenity —the third, Diana, is much younger and was born on Earth.
11. Neko-gami-sama From Pani Poni Dash
Neko-gami-sama is a cat-like creature that often stays inside vending machines to warm the drinks to “body temperature”.
He sometimes uses mysterious powers to play tricks on Mesousa, such as dropping him into a hole appearing out of nowhere.
Lord Cat almost always ends his sentences with the phrase “-desu nya”.
10. Maya From Azumanga Daioh
Sasaki always gets bit by cats when she tries to pet them. This makes her bad luck with cats even worse. In the anime “Azumanga Daioh,” a crazy cat named Kamineko (we’ll talk more about him later) takes Sasaki for a big, painful bite.
But Maya stands out from the other cats that look like they could bite. During a trip to Okinawa, Sasaki meets this cute cat. Maya is a wild cat, but she doesn’t mind when Sasaki gets close to her, which is strange.
This Catto follows the main character back to his house, making him an important part of the series.
9. Neko sensei From Princess Tu Tu
He seems intent on marrying any of his students that slips up as “punishment” and sometimes flirts with adult characters.
However, one female teacher and a student, a goat and a sloth, actually want to marry him, though he doesn’t seem to want to marry them, for he thinks they are “two freaking annoying hideous stalkers” which is revealed in the second season.
He is last seen in the ending episode, not in a human form like the rest of the animal characters, but as an ordinary cat.
8. Shamisen From The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
People often talk to their cats, and Haruhi Suzumiya is the kind of person who does this. At one point, this one talks back, and it has a romantic voice that likes to talk about big ideas.
Shamisen has a few strange qualities, like the fact that he is a male calico cat, which is rare among tricolour cats.
The story of his life as a stray before Haruhi takes him in is told in a manga called “A Perspective of Life from Shamisen.”
7. Happy From Fairy Tail
This cute blue cat isn’t a cat at all. It’s an Exceed, a race of creatures that look like cats and were some of the first people to live in a place in Fairy Tale called Edolas.
This is like Earth Land, but there are different rules for magic there.
Happy is mostly the show’s comic relief, with his funny catchphrase. He lives up to his name, and he is loyal to the other members of his party.
He is about the size of a normal cat, but he knows a lot about Magic and knows how dangerous it can be.
6. Puck From Re:Zero
Carefree pseudo-spirit Emilia is one of the characters in the anime movie “Re: Zero.” Puck looks out for her.
The way that Puck jokes around with Subaru and Beatrice makes her even more likeable. But when this cat gets mad, she might be able to take on The Hulk.
From a story point of view, this cat is a real powerhouse. If the writers didn’t take advantage of this, it would have been a huge waste.
Even though his name sounds cute and he looks like a cute cat, Puck is just as dangerous as his jungle cousins.
5. Kuro From Blue Exorcist
Friend or foe? It was a common topic of inquiry among people in relation to their feline companions.
After learning about Kuro’s history, Rin’s relationship with him shifts, and he eventually becomes a familiar of Rin’s. Initially, Rin faces Kuro as an enormous monster that she must vanquish.
Shiro Fujimoto was able to tame Kuro and take him on as a familiar after the spirit had previously served as a guardian spirit to some nearby silk farmers.
After Shiro passed away, Kuro reverted back to his wild ways, and it was Rin’s comprehension that pulled him back from the brink of grief and hopelessness.
It just goes to show that being kind to an animal will result in them being kind back to you.
4. Chomusuke From Konosuba
The anime series “Konosuba” features a large cast of memorable characters, including a number of lovable animals, but some of anime cats, particularly stands out. Or, more accurately, she sleeps in it.
Chomosuke is Megumin’s familiar, and he travels with the rest of the gang whenever they go anywhere. Chomosuke is almost always present.
It would appear that she has a special affection for Kazuma, given the fact that she frequently dozes off on top of his head.
The following cat on our list enjoys hanging out with Wiz for a number of different reasons, each of which deserves its own paragraph.
This is a relatively average anime cat, with the exception of the times when she uses fire. Don’t even think about letting her know that.
3. Anpu From The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened
This anime, despite its ostensibly uncomplicated title, is known for giving the world a stereotypical cat that is, nevertheless, a fan favourite among people who enjoy watching anime with their pets.
Saiki, who is one of the main characters, has the ability to understand what the kitty is thinking.
The viewers get an inside look at the haughty and superior demeanour of this Catto character, who is always trying to exert their influence over someone for some purpose or another through him.
Anpu is frequently annoyed by Saiki because she is accustomed to receiving all of the attention, and then some.
Their banter provides the show with a number of its more humorous moments. At the end of the day, this cat fulfils a variety of functions in Saiki’s life, ranging from wingman to protector.
2. Meowth From Pokémon
According to the canon, Meowth is not a cat at all. Although he is a feline Pokemon, given how much he resembles one of our furry friends, it is safe to say that he could pass for one of them.
Meowth is not exceptional in terms of his powers; however, he is one of the few Pokemon in the entire series who is able to communicate with humans using human speech.

1. Madara From Natsume’s Book of Friends
He may also be referred to by his other name, Madara, but Nyanko-Sensei is not your typical chubby housecat. He is a Youkai and a particularly potent one at that.
Those who have watched the anime series “Natsume’s Book of Friends” are aware that this Catto is merely a form that the Youkai has chosen to take, and that it is not an actual cat in any conventional sense of the word.
In addition to this, he is resolute in his goal to get his hands on the Book itself because of the inherent power it possesses.
This most likely explains why Nyanko is so condescending and self-serving, both of which are characteristics that the meme community frequently associates with cats.
The fans of Nyanko-Sensei got a flying cat and a cat that can change its shape. Both of these abilities were presented in the series.
On occasion, Nyanko will give off a peculiar light that research has shown is effective at driving other Youkai away.
He might look like a fat Catto, but despite his portly appearance, this particular Catto possesses incredible strength.
Throughout the course of the show, he develops a soft spot for Natsume, which in turn endears him to the audience.
