Demons are often seen negatively in the real world, however, when they appear in an anime series, I believe they can be rather cool and great to watch!

25. Owari no Seraph
Owari no Serpah (Seraph of the End) couldn’t have been more accurately titled, the anime is about vampires and demons in a post-apocalyptic world.
Owari no Seraph is about avenging and it is about retribution.
The protagonist seeks vengeance against the creatures that tormented, exploited, and finally killed off his family and loved ones.
The story is very intricate and has a wide set of characters, the anime is very immersive.
It grasps the attention of the viewers and pulls them closer and makes them dive into the experience.
Even though it has a creative premise it lacks the art of storytelling or rather fails to distinguish itself from the other anime, thus making it very generic.
Despite its shortcomings, the anime as I said has a great watching experience because of its immersive style.
This anime has one of the most creative premises you will read about on this list.
The anime takes place inside a game called, Yggdrasil which was supposed to shut down but somehow it doesn’t shut down!
Momonga, the protagonist of Overlord is also the leader of a dark guild called, Ainz Ooal Gown, when he finds out about the incident with the servers, he commands all his followers to take control of the new world thus becoming the “Overlord”
While the premise is certainly similar to another famous anime about MMORPG game, Sword Art Online but in my opinion, the execution of the storyline in Overlord is way better and more interesting.
There is probably not much Overlord fails at, it is a very enjoyable anime with a great set of characters and an interesting storyline
Who said anime related to demons and devils couldn’t be funny? Well if you were ever told that a demon anime can’t be funny, show this anime to the idiot who said that.
Beelzebub is a cute, adorable, and funny anime about demons, yeah you did read that right, “cute” and “adorable”.
The protagonist of the anime, Tatsumi Oga, a ruffian is chosen to be the parent of Beelzebub IV, the child of the Demon Lord.
Tatsumi is a strong fighter and loves tormenting others, he has a thing for being cruel, all the qualities required to become the parent of a demon baby.
The comedic scenes in the anime are very enjoyable, the plot is also interesting, it will always keep you on your toes.
22. Heaven’s Official Blessing
Crown Prince Xie Lian is disgraced when he encounters a strange demon king who governs the domain of spirits and terrorizes the heavens.
21. Ushio to Tora
Ushio believes his father’s story of an ancient ancestor impaling a demon on a temple altar stone with the fabled Beast Spear is ridiculous.
But when he discovers the monster in his basement, Ushio must reconsider the family mythology!
To protect his friends and family from the invading ghosts, Ushio is obliged to free Tora. Will the monster, though, prove to be worse than the curse?
20. Fukigen na Mononokean
A good-hearted high school boy joins forces with a grumpy exorcist to prevent demons from spreading havoc in the human realm.
In medieval Japan, demonic spirits known as Mononoke terrorize the land, leaving a path of horror in their wake; nevertheless.
One mystery individual possesses the power to destroy the Mononoke right where they stand.
18. Natsume Yuujinchou (2008)
Takashi Natsume has never fit in because of his rare ability to perceive mysterious beings known as youkai.
He was alone and lonely as he was moved from foster family to foster home. He’s come to accept that no one would ever believe him and has cut himself off from his present caregivers and classmates.
When Natsume inadvertently cracks an ethereal barrier, he liberates Madara, a powerful spirit in the guise of a fortunate cat.
Madara notes that Natsume resembles his late grandmother Reiko Natsume, an outcast girl who became famous across the youkai world for authoring the Book of Friends.
Natsume now possesses it, as well as the ability to summon the written names of the youkai Reiko defeated.
17. Kenpuu Denki Berserk
He takes the tasks that pay the best, but he never remains with one gang for long—that is, until he meets the Band of the Hawk.
Guts are ambushed after doing a mission and crushes many of its members in the fight.
Griffith, the commander, and creator of The Band of the Falcon takes an interest in Guts and challenges him to a battle. Griffith destroys Guts with one strike, while the others are no match for him.
16. Nuraihyon no Mago
Rikuo Nura, a half-youkai, half-human boy, grew up to become the Nura Clan’s young master.
Rikuo considered the clan, which included youkai of various forms and sizes, as a family; nevertheless, he soon discovered that he was the only one among his peers who saw them in this manner.
To most, they were terrible folkloric animals who ate children and reveled in violence. Taking this to heart, he vowed to live his life like a regular human being.
15. Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru
As an orphan growing up, Yuki Sakurai wonders about his purpose in existence and his ability to glimpse a person’s unpleasant memories by merely touching them.
Yuki is unable to escape the nagging feeling that has formed inside him after getting anonymous messages telling him to die.
Unbeknownst to him, he is being observed by both those seeking to harm him and those seeking to defend him.
14. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
It’s almost the end of the century, and one girl has been spreading the word: Kaitou Jeanne, a phantom thief allegedly sent by God, has been stealing artworks all around town.
Her true name is Maron Kusakabe, a 16-year-old rhythmic gymnastics fanatic, and Momokuri Academy student — something unbeknownst to everyone, including her closest friend Miyako Toudaiji, who is in charge of Jeanne’s police pursuit.
If you are in a desperate situation and look at the correct area, you could find an odd phone number written in red on a piece of paper.
When you dial this number, you will be connected to a recording of a young guy who will identify himself as the Yato God.
12. Seven Deadly Sins
The dreaded yet adored Holy Knights of Britannia utilize enormously strong magic to safeguard the land of Britannia and its kingdoms in a setting comparable to the European Middle Ages.
However, a tiny group of Knights allegedly betrayed their motherland and turned their swords against their compatriots in an attempt to topple Liones’ monarch.
The Holy Knights destroyed them, but stories persisted that these fabled knights, known as the “Seven Deadly Sins,” were still alive.
Ten years later, the Holy Knights conducted their coup and became the Kingdom of Liones’ new, dictatorial rulers.
11. Yakusoku no Neverland
The Grace Field House, surrounded by a forest and with a guarded entrance, is inhabited by orphans who peacefully live together as one huge family, cared for by their “Mama,” Isabella.
Although they must take exams every day, the children are allowed to spend their time as they see fit, generally playing outside, as long as they do not go too far from the orphanage—a guideline they are obliged to respect at all times.
However, all good things must come to an end, as a kid is adopted and sent to live with their new family every few months, never to be heard from again.
Humans and demons coexisted peacefully for many years. But that togetherness was shattered when demons began assaulting humans and organized a mission to free Gyumao, a wicked demon who had been imprisoned for thousands of years.
Now, a renegade priest named Genjo Sanzo must join forces with three demons—Sha Gojyo, Son Goku, and Cho Hakkai—and go on a treacherous voyage to the west to prevent these demons from raising Gyumao and restoring Earth’s equilibrium between humans and demons.
9. Kamisama Hajimemashite
Nanami Momozono and her familiars Tomoe and Mizuki had been through a lot since Nanami took over as Mikage Shrine’s patron god.
Naturally, Otohiko, the wind god, arrives to invite Nanami to the Divine Assembly in Izumo, the gods’ abode, and Nanami decides to bring Mizuki with her, leaving Tomoe to pretend to her at school.
She does, however, have another reason for attending the Divine Assembly: she wants to find out what happened to Lord Mikage, the shrine’s former god.
8. Yu Yu Hakusho
Yuusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent with a bleak future, is given a miracle chance to change his fate when he throws himself in front of a moving automobile to save a small kid.
His ultimate sacrifice is so out of character that the spirit realm’s rulers are still reluctant to let him go.
Koenma, the heir to the spirit realm’s throne, offers Yuusuke the chance to reclaim his life by completing a series of challenges.
As a Spirit Detective, he is to thwart evil presences on Earth with the help of the death god Botan.
7. Black Clover
It showed the promise of becoming one of the best shounen magic anime since the first arc and it has certainly lived up to the promise.
The main protagonist, Asta, a child born without even a shred of mana but will power strong enough to rival that of a Magic Knight obtains a grimoire with a five-leaf clover.
“The three leaves of clover represent faith, hope, and love. Within a fourth leaf dwell good luck. Within a fifth leaf resides a demon”. Thus Asta becomes tied up with a demon from the Underworld.
The anime has a good plot with amazing character development arcs and even crazier openings. I kid you not but there isn’t even one bad Black Clover Opening.
6. Ao no Exorcist
Humans and demons are two sides of the same coin, as are their respective planets, Assiah and Gehenna.
The only method to travel between realms is by possession, like in ghost stories. However, Satan, the king of Gehenna, is unable to locate a suitable host and hence stays imprisoned on his planet.
In a desperate attempt to defeat Assiah, he sends his son instead, intending for him to develop into a vessel capable of being possessed by the demon king.
5. Mob Psycho 100
One of my favorite anime of all time, it has the most quirky storyline with amazing characters. Mob is such an adorable protagonist and the premise of the anime is also so good.
The protagonist Mob, has very strong psychic powers, he can easily erase any spirits that are thrown at him but there is always a catch.
On account of his powers going out of control, he cannot show emotions at all.
If he experiences strong emotions, he bursts out with a particular emotion to the maximum hurting everyone around him.
The premise of the anime, the characters, and the world-building is absolutely spot on and along with that, the beautiful art style is so pleasant to look at.
The rich samurai’s loud country is fading, and he would do anything for power, even reject Buddha and establish a covenant with demons.
His prayers are granted by 12 demons, who provide him the authority he seeks by assisting the expansion of his prefecture, but at a cost.
When Kagemitsu’s first baby is born, he lacks limbs, a nose, eyes, ears, and even skin—yet he lives.
Kagome Higurashi’s 15th birthday is turned upside down as she is dragged by a demon into the old well of her family’s shrine.
When Kagome is sent back in time to a time when demons were a regular sight in medieval Japan, she finds herself relentlessly pursued by these nasty creatures, all of whom are for the Shikon Jewel, a little sphere containing immense power.
2. Jujutsu Kaisen
The newest and probably the most popular shounen of early 2021. It got popular so fast, it is almost unbelievable.
Jujutsu Kaisen has an amazingly written world with a good set of characters. The characters are partly the reason for its popularity.
The protagonist of the show, Itadori, eats a special grade cursed object and becomes a host for the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, a really powerful curse.
He then decides to become a Jujutsu Sorcerer, a profession that revolves around killing curses.
Curses in Jujutsu Kaisen are really interesting, these curses are actually physical reincarnations of the negative emotions of humans.
The concept is not new but it is very well executed in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Overall, the anime is definitely worth its popularity right now, there is so much mystery and suspense and I think I’ll be speaking for everyone if I say I want to second season like right now!
