Demon Slayer Main Characters Ranked
1. Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado, the main character in Demon Slayer, is the main character. He is a Demon Slayer within the Demon Slayer Corps and entered to transform Nezuko Kamado back into a human.
Tanjiro is known for his empathy with demons. This causes him to pause before striking. However, demons have sometimes taken advantage of this pause to take advantage of his understanding disposition and rebound to resume battle.
He, on the other hand, matures over time and is more precise and calculated in his judgments.
His courage in protecting the helpless compels him to treat his adversary with respect and honor, regardless of whether they are innocent humans or demons.
Tanjiro is a human with an increasing fire of anger and revenge within him. This is hidden beneath his kind and polite exterior. Tanjiro appeared to be as mindless as a demon as many people are when they begin their transition.
He was a vicious beast and would attack anyone in his path. It was not just his friends and comrades who were affected. Nezuko was the only one who refused to get hurt.
Tanjiro’s tragedy of losing his entire family to demons to save Nezuko is beyond tragic. This immediately transforms him into a sympathetic character and a perfect protagonist in our hearts.
Tanjiro has been set up for great things. From the epic battles that he’s been part of, to the dormant promise that he possesses, one can only hope that he will be able to lead the life he and his sister deserved before tragedy struck.
2. Nezuko Kamado
Demon Slayer’s deuteragonist is Nezuko Kamado. She is Tanjiro Kamado’s younger sister and the Demon’s. Before Muzan Kibutsuji attacked her and turned her into a demon, she was once a human.
She is a small, fair-skinned, young woman who has long, claw-like, and pronounced fangs. She is wearing a pale pink kimono with a hemp-leaf pattern and a paler pink liner, as well as a red and green checkered hanhaba and an orange-threaded, oversize obi.
Nezuko was born as a compassionate, kind-hearted girl, just like her older brother Tanjiro. She was also a caring older sister to her younger brothers and always put their interests above her own.
Even after her rebirth, Nezuko isn’t afraid to put herself in danger to protect her friends from demons. This fact is confirmed by Nezuko’s laid-back, humane attitude after Tanjiro apologized.
Fans love her dynamic and want a happy ending.
3. Kanao Tsuyuri
Kanao Tsuyuri plays a central role in the story. Shinobu Kocho’s Tsuguko is the adoptive child of Shinobu and Kanae Kocho. She is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps.
Kanao is a young girl who has soft, wide eyes. Her pink-lilac eyelashes frame her beautiful blue eyes. Kanae Kocho, Kanao’s adoptive sister, pulls her hair back in a ponytail and secures it with pink-green butterfly decoration. Her fringe is straight with two chin-length hairs that curve downwards from her ears.
Kanao, who was traumatized in her past, is a quiet and indecisive teenager when she meets the Kocho sisters. She repressed her emotions and became hesitant to make her own decisions as a defensive tactic.
Kanao, despite her lack of ambition or feeling, ignored Shinobu’s wishes and made the final decision for herself, suggesting that her will was improving.
Kanao eventually learns to communicate her thoughts and wants more freely. This is evident in her relief when Tanjiro heals, her telling Shinobu she would like to train with Shinobu, and her shock at Shinobu’s plan to defeat Doma.
Later, Kanao was shown to have fully recovered her ability to express her feelings and make her own decisions during her final fight against Muzan Kiritsuji.
Her mysterious character makes her ideal for the Demon Slayer Univers, and her emotional arc makes her very likable.
4. Genya Shinazugawa
Genya Shinazugawa is another important supporting character. He is the Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the younger brother of Sanemi Shinazugawa’s Wind Hashira.
Genya is a “lone-wolf”, refusing to accept help from others. He also has little interest in being friendly and showing good manners. He learned to be more social and less mean towards his friend Tanjiro eventually.
Sanemi felt insecure after Genya refused to accept him. He realized how small he was compared to his fellow companions. He did his best to help his fellow soldiers, even though it meant that he was badly injured.
His abilities are the most fascinating thing about this character. Genya can temporarily acquire demonic abilities by eating the flesh of a demon.
The individual’s strength will determine whether he can regenerate or recover the same physical strength as before. Genya can temporarily overpower Aizetsu in this form.
Genya had developed his own Blood Demon Art to fight Upper Rank 1 after consuming the flesh and cells of at least two Upper Ranks (Kokushibo or Hantengu). Genya’s Blood Demon Arts were similar to Nezuko’s and were intended to inflict harm on other demons.
Genya was able to separate his cells and combine them with his rifle. It has multiple eyes on the barrel and muzzle, similar to Kokushibo’s blade. This presumably increases its strength and accuracy.
5. Muzan Kibutsuji
The Demon Slayer’s principal antagonist is Muzan Kibutsuj. He is both the Demon King and the progenitor of all other demons.
When Muzan attempted to cure his fatal disease millennia ago, he was transformed into a demon. His dream is to live forever without fear and to achieve immortality.
He attempts to overcome his vulnerability to sunlight.
Muzan is incredibly intelligent, cold-hearted, and ruthless. Muzan is a cold-hearted, ruthless, and extremely smart individual. He has never seen merit in anyone he’s met and has little respect for his subordinates. He can only express emotion when his vision of greatness is advancing or when his subordinates completely surrender to his will.
He is known for his intense narcissism and pettiness, as well as an obsession with being the perfect person. Given his nearly 1000 years of life and few obstacles, his intense egocentrism seems almost natural.
He’s almost unconcerned about most things, except his reluctance to go out in the heat.
This villain is unique and a great fit for the story. It is easy to see why his fans love him.
6. Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu Agatsuma, a Demon Slayer main character, is Zenitsu. He is a demon slayer.
Zenitsu is a young, pale-skinned man. His eyes fade from soft brown to golden, and his face is fearful. His yellow, short hair hangs in a messy bun in front of his ears and ends at the ends, where it fades to a darker orange color.
Zenitsu is portrayed as a fraud, saying that he has no more time to live because of the dangers involved in his job as Demon Slayer. He has low self-esteem despite his power and believes he is worthless.
This was evident by the fact that he could not believe that he had killed any demons and believed that Shoichi was Shoichi, despite knowing that Shoichi was a small child without special demon-slaying abilities.
Zenitsu will always strive to meet the expectations of others, despite his flaws. He will do his best to make up for them when possible. Zenitsu has a lot of respect for his peers and his late coach, Jigoro Kuwajima.
On the surface, it appears to be a typical comedic relief character. He then demonstrates the incredible nature of his breathing technique.
His fighting abilities are evident when he is unconscious, a sign of how well his unconscious has been trained to handle such large challenges.
7. Inosuke Hashibira
Inosuke Hashibira, a traveling friend of Tanjiro Kamado, is one of the core characters of Demon Slayer. He is also a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps.
Inosuke, a young man of medium height and pale skin, has an unusually toned and muscular body, particularly over his stomach, and arms. He has a strikingly feminine face. His eyes are large and wide, with a variety of long eyelashes, dark-to-light green irises, slim eyebrows, and a well-mannered, short jaw.
His black, short hair hangs high above his shoulders. It fades to blue at the tips, creating a messy, unruly fringe that falls just slightly over his eyes.
He is an arrogant, short-tempered young man who believes that he is the greatest warrior. He can be dangerous because he tends to underestimate his opponent’s strengths and refuses to accept defeat.
Inosuke is believed to lack knowledge about natural human behavior due to his upbringing with boars. He assumes others will attack him, and doesn’t seem able to accept the compassion shown to him by others.
The character is loved by his fans despite all that.
8. Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka, the Demon Slayer’s main support character, is Giyu Tomioka. He is the Demon Slayer Corps’ new water Hashira.
Giyu, a tall man of his age with pale skin and a strong build, is unimpressed and emotionless.
He is wearing a dark, cyan-tinted Demon Slayer costume with buttoned white leg wraps and a pair of white zori with dark-blue straps. His socks are the same cyan as his uniform.
Giyu always smiles with a sad face. Giyu has a reserved demeanor, a firm sense of fairness, and has no patience with people who don’t see their mistakes and live in wastefulness.
Despite Nezuko Kamado being able to survive due to Tanjiro Kamado’s persistence, he kills other demons with no hesitation and shows little concern for them, as do most Demon Slayers.
Giyu, despite his reserved and stoic demeanor, is protective and loving towards everyone he loves and cares about. He first shows this when he puts his life at risk for Nezuko and Tanjiro, threatening seppuku if they ever eat a human.
Fans who wanted to see more of the character were able to recall his personality.
9. Kyojuro Rengoku
Kyojuro Rengoku, a Demon Slayer support character, is Kyojuro. He is the Demon Slayer Corps’ new Flame, Hashira.
Kyojuro is tall and athletic as a young adult. His long, bright yellow hair has crimson highlights along the sides of his head. He also has two shoulder-length and two-chin-length bangs. He also has black forked eyebrows and golden eyes that fade into red with white pupils.
Kyojuro is passionate about his Hashira responsibilities and comes across as an eccentric, cheerful character. Because of his rigorous training and discipline, he was friendly, kind, and had exceptional technique and swordsmanship.
Kyojuro was a dedicated warrior who stood up for his mother’s morality code and values. His most important value is that all people born strong should take responsibility for the welfare of the poor.
His unique breathing technique makes him a fascinating character.
10. Kagaya Ubuyashiki
To his subordinates, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the commander of the 97th Demon Slayer Corps, is also known as “Oyakata–sama.” He is also the patriarch of the Ubuyashiki family.
Kagaya, a young girl with fair skin and long black hair, is described as a beautiful woman. His skin is slowly dying and a curse mark has been placed on him. It spreads across his face, covering his eyes and rendering him blind.
The curse had spread to his entire body by the time he was dead, making it almost impossible for him to move.
Muzan described Kagaya as having a Buddha-like smile at his death.
He typically dresses in a black kimono and a long white haki with a pink and purple misty design on the lower back.
Kagaya is cool and shows concern for the Demon Slayers. He even treats them like his children. He can handle scrutiny well and is honest about his mistakes.
He appears to be gentle, but he is also objective and free from prejudice. This can be seen in his willingness to acknowledge Tanjiro’s and Nezuko’s pain and to uphold their cause even when others disagree.
His speech is fluid and polite, but he is very tactful. He uses phrases and intonations so that the person he’s dealing with can hear them.
He is a powerful character, and his actions have a significant impact on the story. This is why fans love him so much.
