One of the hottest new age shounen in all of anime, Black Clover has got it all. It has the razzmatazz, the quirkiness, and some great comedic timing.
Black Clover is set in a world where almost all people use magic in their day-to-day lives. In this world where magic is everything, we are blessed with a protagonist that doesn’t have a shred of magic. In my opinion, Asta has turned out to be one of the best shounen protagonists.
Though he appears to be just another crazy shounen protagonist that’s just the outer layer, my friends! Asta doesn’t have the power of friendship like Natsu or the “talk-no-justu” like Naruto, all he has is his years of physical training and hard work.
Black Clover is a long-running shounen that has a good filler ratio of about 4 percent, though it is a bit less the fillers are quite good. The fillers are like little insights in the supporting characters, rather than just being a boring summary episode they put up a good show for us with comedic scenes and some emotional ones too.
In this article we are gonna tell you all about the good fillers and mixed-canon episodes of Black Clover.

Black Clover Filler-Arcs/Mixed-Canons Worth Watching
So, as I have already stated, Black Clover has some great fillers where we get more depth to the supporting characters and some much-needed comedy and relaxation in between the story arcs.
Let us now look at some of the fillers that are absolutely worth watching and I’d definitely recommend you to either return back for these or just watch it along with the story.
8. Episode 82: Clover Clips, The Nightmarish Charmy Special
This one is all about that relaxation in between intense moments of the anime!
We get to see Charmy, our beloved little chef in action, but in her dreams. The episode starts with Charmy looking for ingredients in the forest and takes quite a u-turn when she accidentally consumes a mushroom, she shouldn’t have.
The magical mushroom becomes the reason for her nightmares and we get to enjoy the comedic scenes and the adventure that follows!
Overall, fun episode. I would recommend you watch this while watching the story, it’s a good episode just for some laughs, and of course, where there is Charmy there’s always cuteness.
7. Episode 68: Battle To Death Yami vs Jack?
Watch an episode of some quick escalation and the patented Black Clover comedy! At the festival, the fight between two meat stalls turns into a ruckus that might destroy the entire festival.
In the episode we see Asta being forced by Yami to sell meat at his stall and Sekke being forced to do the same but at Jack’s stall. After Asta and Sekke try their best to sell some meat but they have no luck with their sales skills, Yami and Jack decide to take up the job themselves.
Watch as Yami and Jack go all out on each other, does someone stop them? or do they destroy the whole festival? Watch this action and comedy-packed episode to find out!
6. Episodes 123-125: Nero Reminisces
Don’t you just sometimes like to take trips down memory lanes, be it with friends or you just wondering about alone at night, these trips are something else.
Nero can be seen doing the same, she dives deep down the memory lane back when she was not cursed by demonic magic and was still in human form.
We get a glimpse into the life of Secre Swallowtail and the first-ever Wizard King. I definitely don’t want you guys to miss out on these three amazing episodes. Do watch it even if nostalgia is not really your forte.
5. Episode 102: Two Miracles
Hage village is probably the luckiest village out in the boonies of the Black Clover kingdom. I say that becomes of the “two miracles” it was gifted that day when father found two little babies left at his church door.
The two miracles have come back to save the church and to save their home, Hage. Asta and Yuno both have a strong attachment to their village and the church they grew up in and we can see that attachment develop into a sense of responsibility when both of them come rushing in to save the people of the village in this episode.
Though it is not a filler, it does count as a mixed canon, so I recommend you not skip this episode and watch it along with the story.
4. Episode 66: The Secret of the Eye of the Midnight Sun
Another filler, another insight episode into the amazing supporting characters of Black Clover along with some great flashbacks to recall the fight against the Eye of the Midnight Sun.
This time around it’s Klaus and Mimosa who kind of steals the spotlight in this filler episode. We get to see that both Klaus and Mimosa were very worried about Asta being injured in the fight.
The episode is very wholesome but at the same time gives some good storyline and much-needed closure to the Eye of the Midnight Sun arc.
3. Episode 131: A New Resolve
Yet another wholesome filler episode! Black Clover has a knack for nailing these episodes, they’re definitely at the top probably only second to One Piece.
In this one, we get to revisit Hage and meet all the amazing people from the village where Yuno and Asta grew up. The people of Hage are really amazing, they are very inspired by the success Yuno and Asta have achieved in the Magic Knights and they want to be a part of it too!
The villagers built themselves a good magic school and now are learning more and more about magic and how to make it big as a Magic Knight. Asta and Yuno visit the school and talk to the young students, the next generation of Black Clover.
2. Episodes 134-135: A Party No One Anticipated
This one is the patented Black Clover celebration episode with some fake suspense at the beginning which changes quickly into a mood of celebration and fun.
Noell and Asta are dragged by Mereoleona to a meeting where they find Mimosa and the others. All of them clueless about what lies ahead of them, they try to anticipate what this is all about.
I won’t say much about what happens but it certainly is not same as Asta and Noelle’s cooked up fantasy.
1. Episodes 142-148: Devil Worshipers
Hands down the best filler arc in Black Clover. There aren’t many long filler arcs in Black Clover but this one definitely lasts long and it’s good as well.
We are gifted with a little bit of battle with a bunch of guys who apparently worship the devil and want to deliver “justice” themselves.
The arc is filled with good suspense and one hell of an unexpected twist, which threw me off too. Definitely worth watching while you are binging the series.
