11 Popular Steins Gate Characters

Steins Gate characters are multi multidimensional literally and this anime series is one of my personal favorite of all time along side with death note and Naruto.

Steins Gate original game was released in 2009, and after that this amazing series got its anime adaptation in 2011. While the anime is the master piece of art style that made the visual novel stand out and it replaces it with a stellar atmosphere, expressive animation, and an incredible soundtrack.

It also features a streamlined storyline that encapsulates all the routes available in the game, without bottlenecking the narrative too much.

The characters are one of the most important parts of S;G, and boy does it have a great cast – so let’s go through my favorite Steins Gate characters!

11. Nae Tennouji

Nae Tennouji Steins Gate characters

A very timid and reserved Steins Gate characters, Nae prefers to keep out of Okabe’s way, as his Hououin Kyouma persona frightens her.

She is shown to not like him very much, calling him a weirdo due to his tendency to give people nicknames, and especially dislikes him calling her father “Mister Braun”.

She is good friends with Mayuri Shiina and Suzuha Amane though and thinks of them as her older sisters, often exchanging a friendly “Tutturu” with Mayuri, and hanging around with Suzuha when she is working in the CRT TV store.

10. Rumiho Akiha

Rumiho Akiha

Faris is a very short Steins Gate characters with long pink hair and pink eyes. She prefers tying her hair into two drilled pigtails rather than leaving it down.

She is usually seen wearing her work uniform, a maid outfit with a headdress, an apron with a ribbon at the back, and black leggings with black shoes.

She also has a red ribbon around her neck and on the sides of the headdress. She wears a wristband that is black with white frills to go along with the frills on her skirt.

9. Luka Urushibara

Luka Urushibara

Luka is very sensitive and emotional Steins Gate characters. Even simple, sudden responses from Rintaro can cause him to cry or tremble.

He likes to wear girly clothing, which caused Kurisu to confuse him for a real girl when the two met in Rintaro’s lab. Rintaro describes him as “More girly than any girl, more feminine than any female.” in the game.

Luka harbors deep feelings for Rintaro ever since their first encounter in Akihabara, when he was still a male. However, Luka felt that his feelings were taboo and kept them hidden.

8. Yuugo Tennouji

Yuugo Tennouji

Yugo has a great passion for CRT Television and refuses to upgrade to any other type. This coupled with the fact he owns a CRT store has resulted in Okabe nicknaming him “Mr. Braun” after the inventor of CRTs, German physicist Ferdinand Braun and the common Japanese name for CRTs, “Braun Tubes”.

While appearing as a tough and menacing Steins Gate characters and often using this demeanor to jokingly bully Okabe, Yugo actually has a soft spot for the lab members and cares about their well-being.

7. Moeka Kiryu

Moeka Kiryu

Moeka is quiet, absent-minded, reserved, has difficulties interacting with people, and seen to be expressionless most of the time without actually reacting towards anyone or anything, except for certain situations as Steins Gate characters.

Her preferred form of communication is via text messages even if the person she is “talking” to is right in front of her.

Therefore, Moeka is very protective of her phone and becomes agitated if someone tries to take it from her hands.

6. Maho Hiyajo

Maho Hiyajo

A feisty young Steins Gate characters. Due to her extremely short stature, she is often mistaken for a child despite being in her twenties. She has long dark-green hair, and mostly wears casual clothes and mismatched shoes.

Despite being a genius, and Dr. Leskinen’s right hand, Maho started developing self-trust issues after Kurisu Makise appeared at the university, often considering herself the Salieri to Kurisu’s Amadeus.

After Kurisu’s death in Japan, Maho started to talk to Kurisu Amadeus more often forming a relationship like a mother and child until she met Okabe and had to stop interacting with her.

5. Itaru Hashida

Itaru Hashida

Daru is short Steins Gate characters, overweight, and he needs glasses to see. He always wears a dark green/olive t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans along with his signature yellow cap. In one of the anime adaptation’s episodes, Daru is seen wearing a yellow Hawaiian shirt.

Daru is obsessed and extremely talented with programs and computers, capable of hacking into the mainframes of top-secret organizations and processing complex computer codes.

4. Suzuha Amane

Suzuha Amane

Suzuha’s physical attributes include pale toned skin, long brown hair and a slim profile Steins Gate characters. Her outfit consists of a blue jacket, a sweater, black cycle shorts and white socks. She usually ties her hair into two braids.

A friendly, athletic girl who loves cycling and works part-time at the Braun Tube Workshop below the lab. Suzuha often comes across as overly familiar, but in truth she maintains a carefully measured distance from everyone.

3. Mayuri Shiina

Mayuri Shiina

Mayuri is a short girl with short black hair and lightly blue iris Steins Gate characters. Her hair forms fringes that sweep from either side. Mayuri’s eyebrows are noticeably thick.

Mayuri’s outfit is simple and comfortable, consisting of a light blue one-piece dress and a hat of the same color. She also wears leggings underneath her clothing.

Mayuri possesses an extremely childish and naïve attitude for her age. While this may have something to do with her inability to accept the death of her grandmother when she was young, Okabe states at one point that she’s always been a little bit different, though he never goes into any detail beyond this.

2. Kurisu Makise

Kurisu Makise

Kurisu is generally a sensible, serious mature young Steins Gate characters, usually calm and collected even when someone is acting tense in front of her.

Kurisu is a slender young woman with waist-length, reddish hair, and dull violet eyes. Her hair, which she prefers to let loose, ranges in ginger shades all the way from mahogany to auburn.

Her hair color differs considerably in the anime (red) from the original VN (chestnut). The “Kuri” part of her name means chestnut, and her hair color is most likely meant to resemble the color of a chestnut.

1. Rintarou Okabe

Rintarou Okabe

Okabe is a melodramatic, eccentric and rarely tsundere Steins Gate characters. He is a self-proclaimed mad scientist, who likes to assume the nickname “Kyouma Hououin”, and often uses this to introduce himself to others.

For the most part, people do not seem to care and instead address him by his actual name or by ‘Okarin’ (his nickname), much to his chagrin. This makes him slightly hypocritical.

Due to the fact that there is essentially no-one he calls by their real names, and he in particular calls Kurisu a number of names that irritate her to varying degrees.
