These days, everyone is talking about the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. Its recent win as Anime of the Year at the Anime Awards 2020 is just the cherry on top.
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, however, we are going to talk about the sorcerer families or clans.
Find out how these families really work and what part they play in the world of witchcraft and bad spirits.
First off, there are Sorcerer Families, which are clans of sorcerers where the majority of the members are able to use jujutsu.
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, sorcerer families are important. The three great sorcerer families are the most powerful and well-known.
There may be more than one of these clans, but we won’t say how many there are right now.

Big Three Sorcerer Families
People who use jujutsu are part of Sorcerer Families in Jujutsu Kaisen. One example is the Cursed Speech style used by members of the Inumaki Family.
In the world of jujutsu, Sorcerer Families are very important and well-known. There are three main groups of sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen. They are the Gojo, the Kamo, and the Zenin.
The three are all related to the Big Three Vengeful Spirit. The Big Three were strong jujutsu users in life, and even after they died, they still had a lot of cursed energy.
Because of this, the cursed methods of the Vengeful Spirits are passed down through each clan, and the Big Three have the most power in jujutsu society.
Gojo Family
The Gojo Family is the first of the “big 3.” Satoru Gojo is the only known member of this family and the best sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu.
He is also the head of the family. The famous jujutsu sorcerer Sugawara no Michizane lived in the Heian period and was a member of the Gojo family.
After his death, he became one of Japan’s three most powerful revenge minds. They were given the most powerful jujutsu, Six Eyes, and the main move they learned was called “unlimited” (Infinity).
Because of Satoru’s skill, the Gojo family is now at the top of the jujutsu scale and maintains the balance of power.
This lets Satoru be greedy and use his political power to save young sorcerers like Yuji Itatori and Yuta Omitsu, even though more traditional sorcerers from other families don’t want him to.
Zenin Family
The Zenin clan is the only one in the series where we’ve seen more than one person, and they live up to their aristocratic role as the main clan.
They put strong curse techniques above all else and will turn away from their own family if they don’t think their power is good enough.
Even Toji Zenin, who was just as strong as him as a fighter, was turned down by them because they didn’t have enough cursed energy.
He changed his name and left the clan. In fact, Toji Zenin used to be the best individual character, even though he didn’t have any cursed energy.
When something similar happened, Maki Zenin left the clan to become a sorcerer and picked on them. The Zenin family is working hard to stop Maki from getting promoted to sorcerer.
Maizenin, Maki’s twin sister, was also sent back to live with her family. Because Mai is a girl and not a boy like the guys in her family, she is expected to be “perfect.”
Tohji’s son, Megumi Fushiguro, was born instead of Zenin. He was raised outside of the clan at first, but the Zenin family was willing to pay anything to bring him back into the clan.
As a child, Megumi was born with the famous Zenin family marten shadow method. Satoru Gojo took care of Megumi and brought her to her clan.
She later started going to Tokyo Jiu-Jitsu High School. Megumi says she is no longer connected to the Zenin family.
Naobito Zenin was the head of the Zenin family at the time. Besides having a deep-seated dislike for the Gojo family, he also reflected many of their values.
He chose to leave everything to his son, Naoya. Like him, Naoya lives up to the troublesome customs of the major clans. For Naoya, who wants to be the head of his family, the death of his father was a happy event.
But Naoto’s will says that Megumi will become an heir if Satoru Gojo becomes unable to live on her own for some reason. Because Naoya is in a political fight, he didn’t think twice about killing Megumi.
Kamo Family
The Kamo family loves their family very much, but like the Zenin family, their main goal is to pass on the technology they have received.
His mistress’s mother gave birth to Noritoshi Kamo. Everyone in the family did not like her and beat her. But the Noritoshi was born by changing blood, which is a skill that runs in the family.
Its general balance and strength are admirable because they work so well for people who love blood. Because the patriarch’s real wife couldn’t have a son with the method, Noritoshi was picked to be her heir. To keep his mother safe, Noritoshi feels like he needs to act in a way that is proper for his clan.
The Big Three Sorcerers’ greatest damage is also their fault, according to the Kamo family. People in the past thought that Noritoshi Kamo was the most evil sorcerer in history.
He did experiments on people and cursed spirits, which led to the creation of a painting of death that was basically cursed. He mixed his own blood with the DNA of the painting’s parents.
If the numbers 1 through 3 were to be reborn, they would naturally know how to use their own blood. Choso, in particular, gets to use blood manipulation better than his student Noritoshi because he has inherited it.
Other Sorcerer Families
After researching some more, I found out there are other families in the Jujutsu Kaisen world. Now let’s talk about the one I found out about which is the Inumaki family.
Inumaki Family
One of many small sorcerer clans is the Inumaki family. Even though the Inumaki aren’t a big clan, their inherited skill of cursed speech is respected.
The cursed speech user’s mouth is marked with the Inumaki family sign, which is the “Circle Dots and Fangs” symbol.
As a first-grader, Tomoki Inumaki got the best grades in the second grade before Yuta Omitsu joined the class. He was able to go on missions by himself, and the skills he had learned were thought to be strong enough to handle most situations.
All of Toge’s classmates in his second year look up to him, even the Kyoto student who is most afraid of the Tokyo team during the Goodwill event.
One thing is for sure: there are more sorcerer clans in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. But either they are very small and have little to do with the main story, like Sadatsuna Ashiya’s (Creator of Simple Domain) clan, or they are very hidden.
According to me, Gege Akutami will definitely tell us more about this family/clan structure. Also, we don’t know much about Yuji Itadori’s family history; he may also be connected to a sorcerer clan.
