Is Maki Stronger Than Mai in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Gege Akutami’s recent chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen have been making waves and the question arise Is Maki Stronger Than Mai in Jujutsu Kaisen?

In Chapter 149, there were a lot of shocking events. The fight between Maki and her father came to an end, and Maki got a big power boost and a new weapon.

The Zenin clan’s strange ways, which had been hinted at throughout the series, were finally shown in the last part.

Leaks about Chapter 150 suggest that Maki will go on a well-deserved frenzy! Maki’s new strength came at a high price, though.

SPOILERS AHEAD! This page contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Mai has never been as strong as Maki. Even though Maki’s cursed energy was less than Mai’s, her physical strength and skill with weapons were better than Mai’s shooter skills and basic Cursed Technique.

Maki has become stronger since Mai’s death, when she lost all of her cursed energy. Her power and energy now match those of Toji Fushiguro.

Why Is There A Difference Between Maki and Mai?

Is Maki Stronger Than Mai in Jujutsu Kaisen

Due to a heavenly rule, Maki was born with less cursed energy than a normal human. Mai, on the other hand, was born with more cursed energy than a normal human, but still less than a normal sorcerer.

Neither of them got a technique from the Zenin Clan, but Mai did learn an Innate Technique.

Because they were twins, neither of them could move forward for a long time. Mai said in Chapter 149 that she had always known why sorcerers thought twins were bad luck.

With cursed methods, all twins are seen as the same person, like one soul in two bodies. The fact that Maki and Mai are linked holds each of them back.

Mai can’t make progress with her Innate Technique because of Maki’s heavenly restriction, and Maki can’t reach Toji’s physical level with heavenly restriction because of Mai’s cursed energy.

Who Is Stronger Maki Or Mai?

Maki was stronger at first because of heavenly restriction. Her physical strength made up for her lack of cursed energy, even though her cursed energy was lower than normal humans’ but not as low as Toji’s.

She was much stronger physically than Mai, and she was good at using a wide range of cursed tools and weapons.

Mai’s Innate Technique, Construction, wasn’t very good, even though she was good with a handgun and had more cursed energy than Maki. She could use it to make one bullet only once a day.

After Mai died, Maki lost her link to Mai and her evil energy. This made her stronger than Mai. Her total ban from heaven has made her as strong as Toji Fushiguro.

How Does Mai’s Death Impact Maki?

As Mai died, she took all the bad energy they had shared with her. Now that they aren’t connected, Maki’s heavenly limit isn’t as strong, and she can do as much physically as Toji.

Mai also made Maki one last weapon with what was left of her evil energy. It’s a sword that looks eerily like one Toji used during Gojo’s Past Arc.
