Mahō Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi Anime Reveals Teaser

A teaser promotional video, a visual, staff, and the television debut date of Yuzuki Akasaka’s novel Mahō Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi for the October television adaptation were all unveiled by Project Anima on Tuesday.

The book won the “Another World/Fantasy” category in the Project Anima contest that took place in 2018.

As mentioned earlier, J.C. Staff is in charge of the anime’s production.

Takashi Watanabe, known for his work on Rave Master, Shakugan no Shana, and Slayers, is the primary director of the anime, while Masato Matsune, known for his work on Chaos Dragon, Chronos Ruler, and Reign of the Seven Spellblades, is the assistant director.

Hiroko Kanasugi, who has previously worked on First Love Monster and Drugstore in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist, is in charge of writing the screenplays for the series.

According to the description of the book that can be found on the Everystar website, Kurumi Mirai is a first-year high school student.

Kurumi Mirai, a freshman in high school. In the Letran Magic and Magecraft School, the one institution that trains the top-class “wizards” of the International Mage Alliance, she has already secured top marks since middle school. And yet, when she reached high school and took the selection exam to get into the “Magic Group” class that trains wizards, she did not get in.

In the next class, there were students taking the test to become fully fledged wizards, and among them was a student whom Kurumi admired.

How will Kurumi adapt and grow with not being selected despite her boundless intellect?

And what of the goals of the top-class wizard Minami Suzuki, Kurumi’s new homeroom teacher?

The second anime that the winners of the Project Anima audition will develop is Mahō Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi.

With the announcement that the script has been selected as the winner of the “Another World/Fantasy” category by Project Anima in 2018, the anime was previously scheduled to make its debut in the year 2021.

Through various user-submitted content websites like MangaBox, Everystar, and other comparable platforms by DeNA, Project Anima welcomed story submissions from members of the general public.

DeNA, Sotsu Co., Ltd., Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, and MBS were the competition hosts, and there were three different categories.

In August 2018, the project announced the winner of the “Science-Fiction/Robot” category.

The runner-up was the Nekotar Inui book Sakugan Labyrinth Marker (Drilling Labyrinth Marker). The judges did not award the novel a grand prize.

In the meantime, Satelight initially intended to produce an anime adaptation of the book.

After some time, the initiative resulted in the creation of the Sakugan television anime, which made its debut in October of 2021.

In Japan, Mahō Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi was shown on Crunchyroll, which streamed it live.
