Kinnikuman Museum to Open in Shizuoka in April

A new Twitter account was created on Monday to share the exciting news of the upcoming opening of a museum dedicated to Yudetamago’s Kinnikuman series.

The museum will be located in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and is set to open in late April.

The Tournament Mountain arc of the series is set around Mt. Fuji, so the museum is conveniently located in Numazu, near the majestic mountain.

The museum will showcase reproductions of original drawings, life-size figures, and content that introduces the duo known as Yudetamago.

What can we expect from the Kinnikuman Museum?

In the museum, visitors can explore a shop filled with merchandise from the franchise and enjoy a dedicated space to immerse themselves in the manga.

The highly anticipated Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Hen (Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc, or Kinnikuman Perfect Chōjin/Superhuman Origin Arc) anime has recently been announced to debut in July on CBC, TBS, and 26 other affiliated networks..

The anime will be part of a new programming block called “Agaru Anime,” airing every Sunday at 11:30 p.m. (10:30 a.m. EDT).

The block aims to showcase anime from Nagoya to audiences in Japan and around the globe.

The cast features Mamoru Miyano as Kinnikuman, with Akira Kamiya reprising his role as Mayumi Kinniku and Prince Kamehame.

The new anime celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original television anime, which first aired in April 1983.

The arc is named after the arc of the same name in the 2011 revival manga.

In 2011, the manga creator duo Yudetamago decided to bring back their original Kinnikuman wrestling manga as a free web manga.

The creators revisited their original 1979 Kinnikuman storyline and picked up where they had left off in 1987.

The original manga has been the source of inspiration for numerous television anime series and films. Yudetamago had previously released a Kinnikuman one-shot manga in Shueisha’s Grand Jump magazine back in 2015.

Then, after a gap of 11 years, they made a comeback with a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump in June 2019.

The 83rd compiled book volume of the manga was released in Japan on September 29.

In the 1980s, the United States saw the arrival of toy figures of Kinnikuman, which were brought in under the brand name “M.U.S.C.L.E.”

Viz Media later released the manga sequel Kinnikuman Nisei – Second Generations by Takashi Shimada and Yoshinori Nakai in North America under the title Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy.

The anime adaptation was also broadcasted on television by 4Kids Entertainment.
