The first movie in the two-part Haikyu!! series is Gekijōban Haikyu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen (Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump).
Our final sequel film project debuted as the top-grossing movie in Japan.
In its first three days of screening, the film sold 1,529,000 tickets and earned 2,230,465,540 yen.
This film has achieved the highest opening weekend box office earnings in Japan this year, surpassing the earnings of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM anime film.
The movie debuted in Japan on Friday and is set to be shown in IMAX as well. Susumu Mitsunaka directed and wrote the script for the film.
In August 2022, the anime staff announced the two movies.
The initial movie showcases the anticipated face-off between Karasuno High and Nekoma High.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: FREEDOM anime film dropped to the second spot in its fourth weekend.
Over the weekend, the movie managed to sell 160,104 tickets, bringing in a total of 318,026,540 yen (approximately US$2.12 million).
It has sold 1,869,442 tickets for a cumulative total of 3,126,307,990 yen (about US$20.84 million).
The movie will be shown in 353 cinemas across Japan, with additional screenings in 4DX, MX4D, and Dolby Cinema starting on February 9.
The movie debuted at the top spot in the Japanese box office, with 634,182 tickets sold for 1,065,983,130 yen (approximately US$7.20 million) in its initial three days, setting a new record for the Gundam franchise’s three-day opening box office revenue.
Gundam Seed FREEDOM premiered in Japan on January 26th. The movie is set to be shown in 56 countries and territories.
Mitsuo Fukuda, who also directed Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, was the film’s director at Bandai Namco Filmworks. Fukuda collaborated on the script with his late wife, Chiaki Morosawa, and Liu Goto.
Hisashi Hirai, who is well-known for his work on Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, designed the characters.
