27 Best Poison Type Pokémon of All Time (Updated In 2024)

I think that Poison Type Pokemon are the most dangerous creatures in the series every time I think about them.

Poison-type Pokemon include poisonous snakes, poisonous gases, and even funny garbage bags.

And these Pokemon are worth training because they are very useful and have powerful moves. But don’t just take my word for it.

Some of the most famous trainers, like Janine from Fuchsia City, choose poison type Pokemon.

So, put on a hazmat suit and a gas mask, and let’s look at the most poisonous Pokemon ever.

Poison Type Pokemon

Updated in June, 2024, by Swati: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet included amazing choices that permanently changed the Poison-type balance.

Since Sword & Shield, Game Freak has been more cognizant of the genre.

A type that has been neglected and forgotten will need multiple entries to make up for Poison’s inadequate representation.

The balance changes and new features are exciting for Poison fans,

and these Pokemon show why the future looks better than ever.

31. Clodsire

Este jugador de Pokémon crea unos increíbles peluches de Clodsire

Clodsire shows itself to be among the best new poison-type Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.

Poison Pokemon gained a lot of popularity in Generation Nine,

and this ridiculous new development for an additional Wooper form not only fits the Pokemon’s theme but also works out to be really good.

Clodsire avoids one of the biggest dangers to a poison type by having secondary ground typing.

Its ability to absorb water will also help to lessen the ground’s evident susceptibility to movements of the water kind.

Despite its shoddy defence and slow pace,

Clodsire has a number of tricks up its sleeve to keep your opponents guessing.

30. Sneasler

18 Facts About Sneasler - Facts.net

When Sneasler debuted in Pokemon Legends: Arceus,

its amazing numbers and stunning appearance made it the #1 poison-type Pokemon on everyone’s wish list.

An improved variant of its shorter Ice and Dark-type mate,

Sneasler combines the aggressive strength of its cousin Sneasel with excellent speed and passable defences.

Living in the frigid Himui highlands, sneaslers are taller than even sneasels native to that region.

It adapted to the difficult conditions with long,

pointed claws that would readily grip onto even the slickest ice-covered mountain and climb it.

Sneasler, being of the poison type, would rather live alone than with his cousin Weavile.

29. Muk

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Image Shows Muk 'Eating' Pokemon Trainer

Strong Attack allows Muk to take advantage of the usual physical-based poison options,

while solid tanking is supplied by its high HP and special defence.

Even though Garbodor is clearly more attractive,

it’s crucial to keep in mind for all the ‘Unova-no-buena’ enthusiasts out there that Kanto has had a pile of purple sludge for a Pokemon since 1996.

Happily, after over 20 years, this poison-type Pokemon based on rubbish at last got some attention.

Alolan Muk, which glitters like a rainbow,

is now a factor to consider once Pokemon Sun and Moon are introduced.

Strangely wonderful, I think.

As the rainbow variant is also poison and dark rather than the original’s pure poison,

make sure you have a dark-type attack for STAB.

28. Ariados

Goh Ariados 27 Best Poison Type Pokémon of All Time (Updated In 2024)

Even though the Ariados of the Bug and Poison types have been there since Gold and Silver,

players couldn’t really appreciate their creative terror until HeartGold and SoulSilver,

the remakes of those games. It’s only a spider, some may say.

Consider, though, that many extremely dangerous creatures in the real world are extraordinarily colourful,

as a warning to potential predators to back off or face the deadly consequences.

Ariados is a busy spider with a complex web that will tie enemies if its poison isn’t enough to keep them at bay.
