15 Best Rokket Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!

If you’ve been playing Yu-Gi-Oh lately, you know how strong Dragon link decks are right now.

The deck is made up of dragons from different types that work together to link summon more times than you could count, and it’s very reliable.

This deck’s main cards?

Rokkets!

Rokkets are a pretty new archetype that Revolver plays in the Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS anime.

They are a dragon-type deck that is all about guns.

All of them have a crazy ability to bring out more and more monsters from your deck.

Every time you kill a Rokket monster, you get another one from the deck for free.

Whether you want to make a competitive Dragon-link deck or a pure Rokket deck, this list has some of the best Rokket Cards in all of Yu-Gi-Oh!

Note: Some of these cards may not say “Rokket” in the title, but they all work only in Rokket decks and not in any others. Because of this, they’re on this list.

15. Anesthrokket Dragon

Anesth has a high DEF, and when he gets hit, the results of a monster’s attack are cancelled out and it can’t attack.

Even though you might sometimes want to just kill a monster, this works well against big threats that can’t be destroyed, like the Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon.

Move Anesth in and out of your sideboard as needed to deal with enemy decks.

14. Autorokket Dragon

Auto has a good ATK and sends a spell or trap to the graveyard when it is targeted and destroyed by a link monster.

Since this neither targets nor destroys the spell or trap, it gets around most possible defenses.

13. Rokket Recharger

MTg5NTI5MTc4NTE1Nzc3MTIx 1 15 Best Rokket Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Recharger doesn’t have the standard destruction or targeting effects of most Rokkets, but it does have an interesting hand trap effect that also works if it’s fielded.

When a dark monster from your extra deck is killed, he sends himself to your graveyard to summon a different dark monster from your graveyard.

Basically, Recharger helps you keep your best Borrel dragons in play, and if you end up playing him, he can stop aggro with his strong DEF and the fact that he can’t be attacked while you control a dark monster from the extra deck.

12. Shelrokket Dragon

Shel has a strong defense, and when he destroys himself after being attacked by a link monster, he hits a monster in his opponent’s column.

Then, he kills enemy monsters in zones that are next to each other horizontally.

Again, this can be hard, but when it works, it’s worth it because it can hit up to three enemy monsters.

11. Metalrokket Dragon

Metalrokket has good stats for his level, and when a link monster’s effect targets him, it smashes all enemy cards in his column.

Of course, like his siblings, he destroys himself when he is targeted.

However, this lets you bring another Rokket from your deck at the end of the phase, which makes up for the fact that he kills himself.

Even though his removing effect can be tricky because you have to think carefully about which column to put him in, it works on both monsters and spells/traps and doesn’t target, so it can get around some defenses.

10. Speedburst Dragon

This Rokket monster isn’t often played in the metagame, but it has some interesting strategies in the right decks, so I wanted to give it a shout out.

Even though “Rokket” isn’t in the name of this card, it works just like a Rokket monster.

When you take damage from an effect, you can special summon this card from your hand, deal the same amount of damage to your opponent, and get half of that amount back in life points.

This is great for decks that do a lot of damage to themselves.

Take D/D decks, for example. Half of the cards in those decks will do 1000 harm to you every turn, but this card turns that into a benefit.

On the Rokket side, you can add two Rokket monsters from your deck to your hand when this card is tribute called.

This is a great way to find those Rokket pieces that go together right when you need them.

But not every deck can afford a tribute summon, so this guy is at the very bottom of the list.

9. Exploderokket Dragon

When you talk about cards that hurt you, this guy is a great example.

Most of the actual “Rokket” monsters will have an effect that happens when they are targeted by a link monster’s effect, and another effect that special summons another Rokket during the end phase if it is killed.

When the effect of a link monster hits the Exploderokket Dragon, you can destroy this card to deal 2000 damage to both players.

This is a lot of damage, and in the right setting, it could be enough to win the game.

This is also a nice way to set up your graves. And since it was killed, you can use a free special summon during the end phase to get another Rokket.

8. Tactical Exchanger

The result of your Rokket monster is almost twice as good when you use Tactical Exchanger.

You can get a Rokket from your deck or graveyard by destroying a monster you control that is facing up.

So not only are you trading your Rokkets for better ones, but you also get to special summon a Rokket from your deck at the end of the turn because you killed a monster.

This almost makes one monster into two monsters of your choice.

Who could say “no”?

7. Silverrokket Dragon

This is the only way to get rid of an extra deck in Yu-Gi-Oh!Oh, yes, that’s true!

When a link monster’s effect targets this guy, you can destroy this card to look at your opponent’s extra deck and get rid of any card you want from it.

The extra deck is a small pool of cards, with only 15 cards for each person.

It’s pretty normal to only have one of each monster in your extra deck. If you remove the right card, this effect can be very bad.

This effect also lets you keep track of what your opponent plays, so you can know all of their extra deck tactics ahead of time and plan for them.

6. Absorouter Dragon

Decks that focus on Link summons must be good at one thing:

Cards that can easily use their own special abilities.

So, you’ll have a lot of things you can use to link call, and you’ll be in charge of the extra deck.

As long as you control a Rokket monster, you can bring this card from your hand into play as a free special summon.

With a protection of 2800, this can be used to make a nice wall to protect yourself.

But this guy is also great for linking.

When you send Absorouter Dragon to the graveyard, you can add any Rokket monster from your deck to your hand.

This lets you get back the resources you paid and makes sure you always have a monster in your hand for your next turn.

This guy works great with Dragon Shrine, which lets you send dragon monsters straight from the deck to the graveyard.

So, you can go looking for Rokket monsters whenever you want.

5. Squib Draw

In combo decks like Rokkets, draw power is very important.

You’ll have to spend a lot of resources to bring your monsters from the extra deck to life, so you’ll need a way to get more cards into your hand.

This is what Squib Draw does, and it also lets you improve your Rokket tactics.

Basically, you can get two cards by destroying a Rokket monster you control.

If you destroy the Rokket monster, you can get a better one from your deck at the end of the turn, and you also get two more cards.

This is similar to Pot of Greed, but it’s better for Rokkets in some way.

And I didn’t think that was possible (at least not without getting banned).

4. Magnarokket Dragon

In Modern Yu-Gi-Oh, non-targeting removal is something that people want more and more of.

Seriously, if you look at half of the new extra deck monsters that come out these days, they all say that card effects can’t target them.

It makes it impossible to get rid of monsters at all.

Magnarokket Dragon is here to help us.

When a link monster’s ability targets it, you can destroy it to send any monster from the field to the graveyard.

The way this guy’s effect is written, even if that monster can’t be targeted, Magnarokket Dragon can still send it to the graveyard.

This is a great way to get rid of cards that seem unkillable.

3. Quick Launch

03 quick launch card yugioh 1 15 Best Rokket Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!

This is without a doubt the best power card that Rokkets have.

In fact, this card is so good that many decks that don’t have a lot of Rokkets will still play it because it starts combos so well.

With the Quick Launch special, you can call a Rokket monster from the deck at no cost.

This monster can’t attack, and it has to be killed during the end phase. But this doesn’t bother Rokket decks at all!

Most likely, we’ll use that card to Link Summon anyway, and even if it stays on the field to be killed in the end phase, this will only bring out more Rokkets.

With this card, you can’t go wrong.

2. Striker Dragon

02 striker dragon yugioh card 1 15 Best Rokket Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!

In current Yu-Gi-Oh, the way to win is to find field spells.

Why else would it be hard to change the Earth?

When you call up Striker Dragon, you get to look for Boot Sector Launch, which is the Rokkets field spell.

And this spell is no joke. It lets you call up at least two Rokkets for free every turn, but based on how the game is going, you can call up a lot more.

Because it’s so easy to call up a Striker Dragon, it’s basically a field spell that you can use whenever you want.

To call it, you only need one dragon monster of level 4 or lower, and it doesn’t even have to be a Rokket.

The fact that this guy searches a field spell makes it so easy to link summon in Rokket decks makes Striker Dragon the best link monster you can use.

1. Rokket Tracer

01 rokket tracer card yugioh 1 15 Best Rokket Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!

The most important parts of the deck.

Rokket Tracer is the only card that makes Dragon-link teams possible.

It’s a level 4 tuner-monster with an affect that happens so fast it’s crazy. You can get a Rokket monster from the deck by destroying one of your face-up cards.

Even though you can only call Dark monsters for the rest of the turn, Rokkets don’t have any other traits, so this isn’t a big deal.

You can use this card in two great ways.

You could start by getting rid of another Rokket monster you control.

This means that Rokket Tracer gives you a free Rokket monster right now, and you get another free Rokket at the end of the turn because you killed a Rokket.

Second, you can link this effect to a spell or trap that plays quickly.

When these cards are used, they will be thrown away anyway.

And since destruction doesn’t mean “cancel,” this also means that you won’t cancel your quick-play magic.

This makes the result of Rokket Tracer give you a free Rokket for no cost at all.

Using this card’s effect with Quick Launch is my best way to use it.

Rokket Tracer and Quick Launch both give you a free Rokket monster from your deck. That’s a beautiful two for the price of nothing!

This will leave you with three full monsters on your side of the field that you can use to Link call. And then you’ll be in charge of the extra deck.
