Tekken 8 Releases Update 1.03.02

The latest update patch for Tekken 8 is now available, and it includes several bug fixes and other improvements to the game’s quality of life.

The latest installment of the hard-hitting Tekken series, which was released in January, has received raving reviews for its stunning visuals and more “aggressive” gameplay.

A large cast of supporting characters start their own connected stories through intense, one-on-one battles, while Tekken 8 marks a new chapter in the far-reaching Mishima family saga.

Jin Kazama returns to his earlier role as a hero and aims to eliminate his father Kazuya Mishima once and for all.

Tekken 8 received positive reviews when it first came out, but developer Bandai Namco has been improving the game with update patches all through 2024.

After a long time, Eddy Gordo finally made his return to Tekken as a playable DLC character in the most recent update (15.03.01). A Tekken 8 battle pass was later added, but it was met with a lot of criticism. Some players have even started leaving bad reviews on the game’s Steam page.

The next Tekken 8 update patch is now available to download, even though there was some controversy about it. Fixing bugs and balancing characters like Eddy Gordo and Zafina are the main goals of Update 1.03.02. You can also get seven new Avatar skins in Tekken 8’s Tekken Shop.

Update 1.03.02 for Tekken 8 has already been worked on by the servers, so players can go back to the game as soon as the latest patch is downloaded.

Since file size information isn’t in the patch notes, it’s not clear how much space the new update will take up or how long it will take to download.

Note that this latest patch only adds the skins mentioned above; it doesn’t seem to add any major new content. This means that it should be a light download.

Even in light of the recent controversy surrounding the use of an online battle pass to draw revenue on top of Tekken 8’s hefty $70 entry price, any improvements to the game’s already solid light are likely to be welcomed by the game’s devoted fanbase.

Although this latest update patch doesn’t do much to fix the problems caused by the backlash, it does make sure that Tekken 8 runs better on the battlefield.

Tekken 8 Update 1.03.02 Patch Notes

Update Contents

  • Feature improvements and bug fixes
  • Properties and/or behavior for select moves of select characters were adjusted.
  • New items added to the TEKKEN SHOP – Avatar skins (7 characters)

Functional Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • The starting rank for the playable character “EDDY GORDO” in online modes will be matched with existing characters.
  • In addition, several other feature improvements & bug fixes have been made.

Gameplay Improvements

Common

  • Rage Art Heat Burst – Fixed an issue where in specific situations, opponents were able to move during the time freeze animation before the activation of Rage Arts or Heat Bursts.
  • Tornado – In version 1.03.01, adjustments were made to the collision detection between characters and walls to address the issue of slipping through opponents and whiffing when performing a Rage Art after executing a Tornado near a wall. However, as a result, certain existing combos became inconsistent. Therefore, we have reverted this adjustment.

Azucena

  • Forward, Forward, Forward (hold), 3 – In version 1.03.01, we first implemented balancing adjustments with the idea of “avoiding side ways and then counterattacking.” We have made the following additional adjustments, though, because it is currently hard to carry out counterattacks.
  • It has been decided to add 5 more recovery frames.
  • After the end of the attack, there is a shorter distance for forward movement.

Eddy

  • Heat Dash
  • The ability to activate Heat Dash despite whiffing in specific circumstances has been corrected.
  • The forward movement distance after the end of the attack duration has been reduced.
  • Dash and Back Dash – The input window has been adjusted to mitigate the occurrence of the unintended dashes or back dashes.

Zafina

  • Back Dash — Due to animation data changes, back dash distance was shorter than expected so this was reverted to its v1.02.01 state.

Scope of Update

  • “DOWNLOADED REPLAYS”, “MY REPLAY & TIPS”: Replay data from before the update will be unavailable for playback.
  • “ONLINE REPLAY”: Replay data from before the update will be deleted.
  • “SUPER GHOST BATTLE”, “GHOST MATCH”: Character behavior and move properties will reflect that of the post-update state.
