In a survival game, having trusty allies along for the ride can make the experience even more rewarding. After all, a dedicated team can make even the most difficult tasks easy, and more players pulling their weight makes it easier to advance further in the game.
Given this, it’s important to know how to make that happen, and Enshrouded gives players the tools they need to do just that.
Be sure to read the rest of this guide to learn the important details if you’re just unsure how to play the game with friends in multiplayer.
How to Start Multiplayer in Enshrouded
Even before players enter the tough world of Enshrouded, the option for multiplayer must be enabled right away. Three options will appear on the screen once the game has loaded:
- Private: Start a private game that is saved locally.
- Host: Start a public game that is saved locally.
- Join: Join an online game.
The latter two options are where you need to go if you’re looking to play with friends.
Hosting a Game in Enshrouded
A world ripe for conquest with a total capacity of up to 16 players, including you, will be created when you select the Host option. Anyone who can find your game can join by default.
A password can be set so that only those in the know can join your world if you want thin games to be a little more private.
Joining a Multiplayer Game in Enshrouded
Simply select the Join option when starting the game for those who are new to hosting but want to join a friend’s session. A list of public servers will be displayed, and you can search for a specific server as well.
Alternatively, you can make things easier by filtering the game to only show sessions hosted by friends. With the right passwords, you should be able to jump right in and start building your base with like-minded partners.
