New magazine scans from Japan show that characters like Beerus, Whis, Gohan, Videl, and Trunks will playable in the game. The Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero character roster is growing.
The scans indicate that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will use both well-known and new main characters, as well as the in-depth story arcs found in the Dragon Ball multiverse, despite the fact that Bandai Namco has not yet officially announced it worldwide.
Over the years that Dragon Ball has been around, almost every character that fans could want to play has been made playable in at least one game.
As a result, fans don’t think about “if” but rather “when” an unknown favorite will join a new roster for a game.
Meanwhile, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero seems to want a really big roster, confirming a lot of classic fighters and fan favorites.
Characters from Dragon Ball Super, as well as a few from a classic series story arc, appear to be a part of the playable stable in the most recent images from Japan’s V-Jump Magazine, which further underscores that mind set.
According to screenshots of V-Jump posted by Twitter user SLO, both Beerus, the God of Destruction for Universe 7, and Whis, his powerful assistant, will be on the roster, just like they were in Dragon Ball Super.
New Magazine Scans Suggest Beerus, Future Gohan, and More Coming to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
The Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero characters revealed by V-Jump range from more recent additions like those from Dragon Ball Super to character variants from stories familiar to even the oldest fans.
Dragon Ball Super
- Beerus
- Whis
Dragon Ball Z (Majin Buu Saga)
- Son Gohan
- Videl
Dragon Ball Z (Future Timeline)
- Trunks (Sword)
- Future Gohan
Toy Story’s Son Gohan shows up wearing the same purple uniform he wore in the previous story. Meanwhile, Videl, Gohan’s wife, has short hair and is wearing the same outfit she did after Gohan casually suggested she cut her hair.
Video screenshots show Videl using her signature move, Desperado Rush, while Gohan uses what looks like a new power or a move with a different name.
More pictures from the same issue show that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will also use the “Future” story arc by including Future Gohan and Trunks (Sword). To the sword-wielding Trunks (sometimes called “Future Trunks”), “Future” refers to their home timeline.
Future Gohan was the last line of defense in that time period after the Androids killed the Dragon Team and destroyed Earth. Illnesses aside, Gohan taught Trunks things and fought the Androids. In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s last add-on, Future Gohan was also playable.
For example, screenshots of Trunks (Sword) and Future Gohan show both their regular and Super Saiyan forms.
It’s fun to see how many new and returning characters Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero might have. Sonic the Hedgehog fans have been asking for a new game that follows the classic Budokai Tenkaichi design, and it looks like Bandai Namco will try to meet that need with Sparking Zero.
