Masami Kurumada’s June Exhibition Cancelled

The official website for manga creator Masami Kurumada announced on Tuesday that the first major exhibition of his manga art, originally scheduled in June, unfortunately, had to be canceled “due to various circumstances.”

Kurumada’s staff has shared that he is genuinely saddened by the cancelation, understanding the disappointment felt by fans worldwide.

The exhibition was announced in January and was scheduled to open at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.

Kurumada released the original Saint Seiya manga between 1986 and 1990.

Masami Kurumada’s manga has been a source of inspiration for various television anime, original video anime projects, anime films, and spinoff manga.

The live-action Hollywood film Knights of the Zodiac premiered in Japan in April 2023.

The film is called Saint Seiya: The Beginning in Japan.

The film started showing in the U.S. in May 2023.

Kurumada’s Saint Seiya: Next Dimension – The Myth of Hades manga (image right) recently took a break in June 2023 and is set to make a comeback in early summer for the much-anticipated “climax.”

Masami Kurumada’s manga returned from its previous break in April 2023 with the “Final Series Prequel,” consisting of eight chapters. The manga has been on a break since July 2021.
