In Helldivers 2, players have been getting more help in the fight against the Automatons and Terminids for a while now.
But since mechs dropped at the beginning of March, we haven’t had anything substantial, and they’re already pretty weak.
Fans of Helldivers have been hankering for weapons, and the recent leaks about APCs are making them even more so.
It appears that a new type of APC called a “Colony Rover” has been discovered in the game’s files, so I’m back with yet another leak to add to the problem.
This was first shared by Reddit user IronS1ghts, who posted two pictures of the Colony Rover on the Helldivers Leaks subreddit. One of the pictures was rendered, and the other was the model’s mesh.
Along with the model of the Colony Rover, they also discovered that the vehicle has driving properties and placeholder animations attached to it.
This means that either an NPC or the player can drive this vehicle around. With no outward weapons of any kind and a big body to fit several people, this APC leak appears to be more transportation-focused than the previous ones that have spread throughout social media.
Helldivers 2 Players Already Have Theories
Now that we know the Colony Rover is actually in the game, the question is what it does and how to get it.
Several players have already pointed out that a wrecked version of this vehicle can occasionally be found on certain planets.
This has led them to believe that this might be something that can simply be found once it’s added to the game.
Another common belief is that we won’t be driving this vehicle ourselves, but rather that it will be used for a new mission.
Some believe it could be used as a convoy vehicle during a new NPC escort mission because it has no weapons attached and can be tracked.
Either way, there is no way to know for sure what Arrowhead’s plans for the vehicle are until it is added, so the long wait for an APC of some kind to drop in Helldivers 2 continues.
