Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Isn’t Kevin Conroy’s Last Performance

Kevin Conroy died in 2022, and it has long been assumed that reprising his role as Arkham Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was his last role.

However, it has now been revealed that he will appear in a new show and movie after his death.

According to IGN, Conroy voiced a character in the upcoming animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, though it’s not clear if he plays the Dark Knight himself.

In Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part Three, he did, however, play Bruce Wayne from The Animated Series one last time.

We still don’t know when Parts 2 and 3 of this animated trilogy will come out, but the first part was released earlier this month. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, however, is still his last performance as Arkham Batman.

Warner Bros. Discovery originally canceled Batman: Caped Crusader, but Prime Video picked it up for two seasons. Along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J. J. Abrams and The Batman director Matt Reeves, the show is being run by Bruce Timm, who created The Animated Series.

The movie will employ “state-of-the-art animation techniques [to] reinvent the characters and [Batman’s] rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences, all set in a visually striking world.”

Conroy could very well be reprising the role of Batman to carry on the legacy of the original Animated Series from the 1990s, but no official casting has been announced.

According to director Axel Rydby, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still a “tribute” to Kevin Conroy, even though it’s not his last performance.

“It was very emotional for all of us in the entire studio, it was so sad when he passed,” Rydby stated. It’s tough to say enough about how important he is to Batman as a character and to how Batman is portrayed.

All of us were very sad when it happened, and we wanted the game to be as much of a tribute as possible. We now know that Mr. Conroy really enjoyed his performance in the game, and it was important to us that it felt like he enjoyed what we were doing with the game as well.
