A new update for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has been released. It fixes bugs and makes a lot of changes to the game’s balance.
As of patch 1.05, this is the first update for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.
The December update to Armored Core 6 added new frame parts, weapons, name plates, and more, as well as a system for matching players based on their rank.
Despite receiving strong reviews from fans and critics alike, FromSoftware’s mech-based action game has had trouble maintaining a strong player base since its launch in August 2023.
After reaching a high point of 156,000 players at launch, the average number of Steam players in the last 30 days is now just under 2,000.
This is largely because Armored Core 6 is a single-player game, so most players quit after finishing the PvE content.
However, some fans are hoping that Armored Core 6 can win back some of its fans by putting out good updates. The most recent one was just released.
Armored Core 6’s patch 1.06 was released on February 5. It made balance changes to many weapon units, frame parts, and inner parts of the game.
Aside from making the Viento needle gun and LCB laser cannon less powerful, the changes also make the WLT FCS and Kasuar reverse joint stronger.
The balance of 21 weapon units, 19 frame parts, and 8 inner parts was changed, and these changes are likely to have a big effect on how Armored Core 6 is played right now.
Several bugs were also fixed in Patch 1.06. For example, tank legs were using a shorter hit stun than they should have, and back weapons were firing incorrectly after being reloaded.
Users should install the new patch before going online to play now that the update is out for all platforms.
Armored Core 6 is regarded as one of FromSoftware’s best mech games, so hopefully the new patch will encourage players to take another turn.
Armored Core 6 is mostly a single-player PvE game, but its PvP mode gives players a high skill ceiling to work toward.
The community liked the new balance changes because they made some of the most annoying meta tools weaker while making off-meta tools that aren’t used very often stronger.
Fans are hoping that these changes will help show off how good the combat is in Armored Core 6.
It even makes it onto the list of FromSoftware’s best-rated games on Steam, which is a very tough spot to get into.
Only games like Dark Souls Remastered, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice can compare to it.
Fans can anticipate more content from FromSoftware this year. It is not confirmed, though, that DLC for Armored Core 6 is in the works.
In the meantime, fans of Elden Ring can look forward to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which is said to be coming out this year.
