The New Gate Anime Unveils April 13 Premiere Date

The staff for the television anime of Shinogi Kazanami’s light novel series The New Gate revealed a new visual, announced an April 13 debut, and introduced two additional cast members on Friday.

The New Gate will premiere on April 13 at 25:30 (effectively April 14 at 1:30 a.m.) on Tokyo MX and BS11. The anime is scheduled to be broadcast on MBS and AT-X in the future.

Tamaki Nakatsu, who is well-known for his work on the movie Eyeshield 21: The Phantom Golden Bowl, is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts.

Hiroki Uchida is responsible for the series scripts, while Itsuki Takemoto designs the characters. Tatsuhiko Saiki, Yūya Mori, Misaki Tsuchida, and Tsugumi Tanaka collaborate on the music composition.

Mika Okasaki will be singing the anime’s ending theme song, “Kanataboshi.”

Two new cast members have been announced: Lynn as Rionne Strail Bayreuth and Yūki Hoshi as Kagerou.

One Peace Books is releasing the novels’ manga adaptation digitally and physically, and it describes the manga’s first volume:

The New Gate is an online game turned into a fight for survival for its players.

Thanks to Shin’s remarkable efforts, the most powerful of them all, an end to the game and freedom for everyone seemed within reach.

Shortly after Shin defeats the game’s final boss, he is enveloped in a mysterious light and suddenly transported 500 years into the future of the in-game world.

Cast into a mysterious new realm after a game mishap, a powerful young swordsman is ready to begin an epic adventure!

Kazanami started publishing the original story on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) website in 2013.

AlphaPolis started releasing the story in physical book volumes in December 2013, featuring art by Makai no Jūnin.

In August 2016, Kazanami removed the story from Shōsetsuka ni Narō, and AlphaPolis made the story available on its website.
