A well-known leaker has revealed that three Pokemon games are already in the works for the Switch 2.
Fans are relieved by their claim because they were worried that the next Nintendo console, which the company just confirmed will be released in March 2025, might not have Pokemon games for a while.
This is exactly what happened to the Switch. It had to wait 20 months for its first Pokemon games, the critically acclaimed Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the last games made by Game Freak for the 3DS, were released just as Nintendo’s current-gen console was wrapping up work.
The well-known leaker @Riddler_Khu, also known as Khu Beating Around The Bush, recently said that three Pokemon games have already been approved for the Switch 2.
This suggests that Game Freak may be better prepared for the Switch’s successor. One of the leakers said that the trio includes “that project,” which is likely a reference to the Generation 10 games.
The recently announced Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which Nintendo confirmed was in the works during the February 2024 Pokemon Presents broadcast, may be one of these three rumored Switch 2 games.
The second Pokemon Legends title was only announced for the Switch, but its 2025 wide target coincides with the rumored Switch 2 launch window.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A could be a cross-gen title given that Nintendo is reportedly planning to release its next console in or around March 2025. If for no other reason than the rumored backward compatibility of the upcoming device.

The claim that multiple Pokemon games are in the works at any given time sounds very likely, but as with all rumors, this one should be taken with a grain of salt.
For their part, Riddler_Khu has a long history of real Pokemon leaks, though their reputation has suffered in recent years. Mostly because they’ve said over and over that Generation 5 remakes will be out in 2024, which doesn’t look like it will happen.
It’s possible that the Generation 5 remakes could still be part of the greenlit project group if their most recent claim is true and Legends: Z-A is one of the three games they mentioned.
Just like it did with Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Scarlet and Violet in 2022, Game Freak may be getting ready to release Legends: Z-A and the Gen 10 games in the first and last quarters of 2025.
