Aniplex of America shared exciting news on Friday, revealing that the highly anticipated English release of Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- is making its way to the western market on June 27.
The game will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Switch.
Aniplex of America has kindly shared an English promotional video for the upcoming localization, which also features the opening.
The Tsukihime game was released in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Switch in August 2021, and it has already sold an impressive 300,000 units as of January earlier this year.
The game showcases a fresh voice cast compared to the 2003 Lunar Legend Tsukihime television anime adaptation.
- Ryōsuke Kanemoto portrays the character Shiki Tohno.
- Ikumi Hasegawa portrays the character Arcueid Brunestud, while Kaede Hondo takes on the role of Ciel. Shino Shimoji brings Akiha Tohno to life.
- Yūki Kuwahara portrays the character Kohaku, while Kana Ichinose brings life to Hisui.
- Additional characters and cast members have been announced, with Ai Kayano joining as Noel and Ayane Sakura taking on the role of Mario Gallo Bestino.
Kinoko Nasu made a welcome return to write the scenario and direct the remake, while Takashi Takeuchi also returned as the character designer.
In collaboration with the record label Sacra Music, ReoNa had the chance to perform the game’s theme songs “Seimeisen” (Lifeline) and “JUVENILE,” while ufotable created a gorgeous animated opening.
The company shares the story of Tsukihime:
Tsukihime tells the tale of Shiki Tohno, a high school student who gains the ability to perceive ‘lines of death’ following a childhood accident.
After the passing of his father, Shiki returns to his childhood home to live with his sister, Akiha Tohno, and embarks on a journey to uncover unsettling secrets hidden within his hometown.
Experience the captivating world of Tsukihime as Shiki embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind a series of perplexing murders, encountering beloved characters and surprising new faces along the way.
Aniplex brought the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch version of Type-Moon’s Mahōtsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night) visual novel game to the West in December 2022. This release is particularly special because it’s the first time a Type-Moon visual novel has been officially translated into English.
Witch on the Holy Night was an early collaboration between Kinoko Nasu and artist Takashi Takeuchi in the mid-90s, before they founded Type-Moon. At first, Nasu and Takeuchi chose to share the draft of their novel exclusively with their close circle of friends, rather than making an official release.
Type-Moon later expanded it into a visual novel featuring graphics by Hirokazu Koyama, which was released in April 2012. Additionally, two sequels are currently in the works.
The game is being adapted into an anime film by Ufotable.
