Train to the End of the World Unveils Promo Video

Kadokawa unveiled a fresh “Let’s Depart!” promotional video original anime Train to the End of the World, directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, known for his work on Girls und Panzer and Shirobako.

The video was released on Thursday.

The Train to the End of the World anime is set to debut on the AT-X channel on April 1 at 9:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. EDT). Additionally, it will be available on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11.

Train to the End of the World: Story

The Train to the End of the World anime takes place in a charming town nestled in a unique countryside, where the residents find themselves caught up in a major and peculiar event.

However, a young girl named Shizuru Chikura is filled with a deep longing to be reunited with her dear friend once more.

Shizuru and three other girls embark on an adventure aboard an abandoned train, venturing into the uncertain realm of the outside world.

Curious to know what lies ahead at the final destination of the “Doomsday Train?”

Train to the End of the World features a cast of characters:

  • Azumi Waki portrays Nadeshiko Hoshi, affectionately known as Nadeko
  • Erisa Kuon as Reimi Kuga
  • Hina Kino portrays the character Akira Shinonome.
  • Chika Anzai portrays the character Shizuru Chikura.
  • Nao Tōyama portrays the character Yōka Nakatomi.
  • Kazuyuki Okitsu portrays the character Zenjirō.
  • There is also a character in the anime called Pochisan who doesn’t speak.

Tsutomu Mizushima, who is well-known for his work on Girls und Panzer and Shirobako, is directing the anime at EMT Squared.

Michiko Yokote, known for her work on Shirobako, Prison School, Cowboy Bebop, and Rurouni Kenshin, is in charge of the series scripts. Asako Nishida, who has previously worked on Land of the Lustrous and Love Live! School idol project, is responsible for designing the characters based on namo’s original designs and is also serving as the chief animation director.

Miho Tsujibayashi is the musician.

Rei Nakashima sings the opening theme song “GA-TAN GO-TON,” while Rokudenashi performs the ending theme song “Eureka.”

Manga artist Torimura started serializing a manga adaptation on the free manga website KadoComi on March 25.

The manga is told from Akira’s perspective.

Kadokawa revealed the anime as a way to celebrate Railway Day, which marks the 150th anniversary of Japan’s first railway, in October 2022.
