The Unquiet Dead Quest in Skyrim Guide

In the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim, there’s a new quest available called The Unquiet Dead in Skyrim.

The hardest part is that you’ll need to find Rin’s body. The Creation Club makes new quests, which means they’re made by fans. This new quest has some classic Bethesda bugs, but it’s still well-thought-out and unique.

Farming is a questline that Skyrim fans have been waiting for a long time. This quest is part of it. Let’s look at how to begin the Skyrim: The Unquiet Dead quest.

Some unexpected, but not necessarily bad, changes have been made to the game. One of these is that players can now get, own, and take care of a plantation east of Rorikstead.

Where to find Goldenhill Plantation in Skyrim?

Unquiet Dead

You must first find the Goldenhill Plantation to begin this quest. Going to Rorikstead and then East is the fastest way to find it.

If the screen prompt saying you’ve found it doesn’t show up, just look for all the dead bodies that are lying around. The Unquiet Dead quest will then begin after you need to defeat a ghost.

Why And How To Complete The Unquiet Dead?

Players need to leave Rorikstead, a farm town that is located in the Hold of Whiterun, and continue their journey towards the east in order to reach the Goldenhills Plantation. Following the discovery of the location, the player will be confronted by a ghost, the defeat of which will initiate the quest.

Furthermore, the location will be unlocked for use in future Fast Travel missions. The quest can also be obtained by asking an innkeeper in one of the many taverns in Skyrim for rumors. Based on these rumors, players will be asked to go to the farm to investigate a haunting. This is an alternative method of obtaining the quest.

The next step for players would be to search for the body of Urval near the plantation home proper. Among the personal effects of Urval is a torn page from a journal, which is a hint that the player should search for the rest of the journal in order to make sense of the tragedy that occurred on the farm.

However, the ghost has been eliminated. The journal belonging to Urval can be found on the top floor of the house, which can be reached by climbing the stairs that lead up to the top floor.

In the journal, Urval discusses his suspicions that his wife, Jonquil, engaged in witchcraft as well as the fact that she poisoned him after Urval confronted her about it. Moving down to the basement would be the next step for the players to take in order to finish the game.

By looking to their right and pressing a button on the wall by the door, one can find an entrance to Jonquil’s hidden laboratory. This is a common technique used in some Skyrim quests.

At this point, the cupboard will move, revealing a path that leads to the laboratory, where the players will be confronted by the ghost of Jonquil. The players will be able to read her journal placed on the apothecary table once they have successfully eliminated their spectral attacker.

This journal will provide additional insight into the sequence of events that led to the haunting. Namely, it reveals that the couple murdered each other after their son Rin went missing, with each side blaming the other for the death of their child. Rin was the child who went missing.

Finding Rin’s journal in his room and determining the boy’s true fate are the final steps in the quest now that the truth has been revealed. The players can find the old well by leaving the house and heading in the direction of the southeast, looking to their left, until they come across a pack of wolves, one of Skyrim’s easiest groups of enemies, as described in the journal.

The players will find Rin’s gnawed-up skeleton next to the well after using their Dragonborn’s preferred weapon to take care of the pack. The skeleton also has a wooden toy sword that is still held in his grip. They will have completed the quest once they have returned the sword and placed it beneath the Imperial banner that was discovered in his room.

This causes all three ghosts to appear in the vicinity of the player, and the young boy thanked the ghosts for putting the troubled spirits of his family to rest by presenting them with the keys to the farm.

Players are now able to put the farm to use and further improve it through a variety of construction options, similar to those that were introduced in the Hearthfire downloadable content for Skyrim, after obtaining the key to the Goldenhill Plantation and resolving the haunting issue.

Skyrim is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
