Suicide Squad Isekai Anime Announced

At AnimeJapan 2024, the stage event showcased the highly anticipated Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime by Warner Bros. Japan and Wit Studio.

Fans of Suicide Squad were treated to the Suicide Squad anime’s newest trailer video, unveiling the exciting news that it will premiere in July on Tokyo MX and BS11.

The Suicide Squad anime’s stage event also happily announced that the staff had completed voice recording for the series.

  • Chika Anzai portrays the character Katana.
  • Reina Ueda voices the character Fione, while Mamiko Noto lends her voice to Aldora.
  • Jun Fukushima portrays the character Cecil.


Warner Bros. provides a description of the original anime’s story:

In the dangerous streets of Gotham city, Amanda Waller, the leader of A.R.G.U.S., has brought together a team of infamous criminals for a special assignment. This team includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark.

These DC Super-Villains find themselves in a fascinating otherworldly realm that is intricately linked to our own through a mysterious gate.

Welcome to a fantastical realm filled with swords and magic, where fearsome orcs roam and majestic dragons soar through the skies—an incredible “ISEKAI” adventure awaits! Harley and the others find themselves caught up in a chaotic situation after being transported to ISEKAI. Unfortunately, their journey takes a turn for the worse when they are apprehended by the Kingdom’s soldiers and subsequently imprisoned.

They have a limited amount of time before the bomb on their neck detonates.

The deadline is quickly approaching. Following discussions with Queen Aldora, the requirement for our freedom was to defeat the hostile Imperial army.

They willingly embrace the challenge of diving into the front line of battle.

They run; they perish. They don’t come out victorious; they meet their demise.

The original anime at Wit Studio is being directed by Eri Osada, who has previously worked on Jujutsu Kaisen and directed an episode of Gintama.

Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara have been chosen to write the scripts for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- and Vivy Prototype light novels.

Akira Amano, the talented manga artist behind works like ēlDLIVE, Reborn!, and Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective, is currently working on the original character designs. Naoto Hosoda, known for his work as a key animator on Seiren and Digimon: The Movie, is in charge of character design for the animation. Kenichiro Suehiro is the talented composer behind the music for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Golden Kamuy, and Undead Unluck.

Shinya Tsuruoka is currently working as an animation producer at Warner Bros. Japan.

Tomoyasu Hotei will be delighting us with the opening theme song “Another World,” while Mori Calliope will be treating us to the ending theme song “Go-Getters” (previewed in the above video).
