Remove The Floor Safely in Sims 4

How can I get rid of a floor that I don’t want in The Sims 4?

Removing a floor is a frequently encountered issue when building in The Sims 4.

It typically occurs when we are creating two distinct floor plans. And as you transition between them, you may unexpectedly find a floor or ceiling where you never intended it to be!

Simply put, the game adds a floor without your consent!

For instance, if you’re constructing a house, you could consider incorporating an open-space area on the first floor, such as an indoor garden.

And it would be great to keep the second-floor space open as well.

However, the game includes a feature where it places a ceiling over the open space area, concealing the garden beneath the second floor.

This seems to be a challenge for any similar concept.

However, the true concern arises when we attempt to address the issue. Let me explain.

If you choose the sledgehammer tool and give the floor a gentle tap, you might accidentally delete more than just the intended area.

It’s important to be cautious when using this tool. Despite the apparent challenge of finding a solution, there are a few actions you can take.

Discover the steps you can follow to safely remove the floor in Sims 4!

Despite the complexity and challenges of this situation, there is a solution available to you.

Let’s start by considering the problem at hand. We’re constructing a home with a spacious central area.

It would be great if the open area is easily visible from the second floor.

However, by adding a fence (on the second floor) around it, the game will recognize it as a room. And so, effortlessly cover the flooring in that particular area. What should we do?

Just go ahead and double-click right in the middle of this area.

In case the game considers this section as a room, it will show the lines of its walls.

Just left-click on the floor and you’re good to go. You’ll see a single option that says “Remove Floor.”

By clicking it, the flooring over this area will be removed.

In our example, the fence, walls, and regular flooring will remain unchanged, while the ceiling over our open area will be removed. And that’s what we’re aiming for!

Just a reminder, the sledgehammer tool won’t be of much help in solving this issue!

Additionally, this method can be used to remove a floor above stars or a basement in The Sims 4!

Final Words

Regrettably, certain aspects of the build mode in The Sims 4 can be challenging to grasp.

In the past, players have expressed their frustration with the counter-intuitive nature of many building tools, and unfortunately, the developers have not addressed these concerns.

Similarly, the issue of removing a floor in Sims 4 arises because the game lacks clarity in guiding players on how to perform the desired action!

I’m glad our post was able to assist you with the issue of removing floors in Sims 4!
