The anime is based on Kenji Inoue and Yui Haga’s Baka to Test to Shōkanjū light novel series.
The initial season was broadcasted in 2010, followed by the second season in 2011.
The two OVA episodes were released in 2011.
About Baka and Test
The first season consists of 13 episodes, while Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts 2 also has 13 episodes.
The Blu-ray Disc and DVD box sets for the franchise include five unaired anime episodes from season one and two unaired episodes from season two.
Kenji Inoue started writing the Baka to Test to Shōkanjū novels in 2007, with illustrations by Yui Haga, published under the Enterbrain label. The relationship came to an end in 2013.
The manga adaptation of the series was first published in Shōnen Ace magazine in 2009 and has since spawned two spin-off manga.
Yen Press and BookWalker Global have teamed up to bring the manga to English-speaking readers in a digital format.
