Incredible PvE Fan Concepts Have Overwatch 2 Fans Sad All Over Again

An experienced Overwatch 2 fan has made user interface ideas for a full PvE mode that will never be made.

Fast Play and Competitive Play are the most popular game modes in Overwatch 2, but there was supposed to be a full PvE mode as well.

The Arcade, which features a variety of modes in rotation and special ones during seasonal and limited-time events, is available to Overwatch 2 players who want to take a break from competitive modes.

On the other hand, the PvE mode that was shown for the first time at BlizzCon 2019 looked like it would completely change Overwatch 2.

Despite players’ excitement, the idea didn’t come to fruition, and Blizzard surprised players last year by removing Overwatch 2’s PvE mode.

A talented Overwatch 2 fan has made a project that brings back the feature that was canceled, showing what it could have been.

An Overwatch 2 PvE user on Reddit called roastedtuna has made some really cool UI concepts.

On the first screen, you can see the shop where you can buy cosmetic changes for Tracer and weapons for Mei, Reinhardt, Tracer, and Zarya.

On the following screen, Tracer is shown on the King’s Row map, and in the upper right corner is a list of objectives.

Third displays the character selection screen with information such as artifacts to equip, a picture of the chosen hero, and their skills and talents.

The player was given one final screen with a list of missions, one of which explained the objectives and possible rewards.

Incredible UI Concept Imagines an Overwatch 2 PvE Mode

Redditors praised the OP’s design and thought it was great. A lot of people were sad when PvE was taken away, which was one of the worst decisions in the history of the shooter.

One commenter especially lamented that the game should have had skill trees, which were one of many features that were taken out of Overwatch 2’s PvE.

The PvE mode would have been the first step toward making Blizzard’s game feel more like the cancelled MMO Project Titan, as well as a piece of content that the Overwatch 2 community had been eagerly awaiting.

The decision to cancel PvE was a change of direction, according to Executive Producer Jared Neuss, because the original idea “didn’t make sense.” That’s what players saw instead when Overwatch 2’s controversial PvE missions were released behind a paywall.

As a result, Overwatch 2 players can only hope that Blizzard changes its mind one day. In the meantime, they can look at fan art like this to imagine what the PvE could have been like.
