The next patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is on the way, and it looks like it will be one of the biggest yet. Larian Studios is bringing us new evil endings with brand-new cutscenes and music, as well as official mod support and a whopping ton of bug fixes.
Larian said that the new endings will be “even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs,” and you can get them even if you’re not playing as Dark Urge. We don’t know what they hold or how to get them yet.
You can see two sneak peeks from the cinematics below. They give us a taste of what to expect in our new playthroughs, which are bound to happen.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Bug Fixes
The next update will stop Jaheira from using the group when she normally would, and it will make Wyll’s greetings less abrasive. The Narrator also forgot to read her lines during the fight between Gortash and Dark Urge, which will be fixed in Patch 7.
Larian also wrote in the blog post that we can expect general performance and stability improvements that will make things run more smoothly. But maybe the most important thing that Patch 7 adds is official mod support. This means that mods can be used on consoles, as Larian said in February.
“This next patch will also begin introducing our official modding tools, letting you change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more to overhaul Baldur’s Gate 3 into the weird nightmare realm of your dreams,” Larian said.
As Larian revealed, they are still working on photo mode and cross play, there will be even more significant updates after Patch 7. You can only get a vague “further down the road” answer when either of these features will be ready, but they are being worked on.
Larian Studios is already working on its next two projects, but support for Baldur’s Gate 3 will still be available. Yes, there are two. We already knew it was working on a new game, but the blog post revealed two more that CEO Swen Vincke calls the team’s “best work ever.”
