Since its release in October 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been a big hit for Insomniac, Sony, and the PS5. Many people have called it a masterpiece in the superhero action genre.
Updates have been released since the game’s launch, even though most fans have already finished the main story. The most recent update added a new way to play the game.
The Big Change For the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Suit
The Tobey Maguire suit now has even more accurate colors when it comes to the movie, which is the change Spider-Man 2 players have been asking for and Insomniac has granted.
Although the “Webbed Suit” in the game did look strikingly similar to the costume design from the first three Spider-Man films, some fans felt that the reds and blues weren’t quite right. That’s now fixed with this new game update.
The New Game Plus mode that some players have been asking for is also finally included in the New Spider-Man 2 update.
The difficulty of the game is raised by raising the stat caps for the characters in the new Ultimate Levels. This mode also introduces some never-before-seen suits.
Hardcore trophy hunters should be drawn to the New Game Plus mode, which also introduces a new trophy.
Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ Hellfire Gala costumes, which are formal suits intended to match the big comic-themed event, are among the new costumes in the Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus update.
There are also special charity suits made in collaboration with Gameheads, a nonprofit that aims to help underprivileged youth and people of color break down barriers in the tech and gaming industries.
The charity skins cost $4.99, and all the money from sales will go directly to Gameheads and its projects.
As for when new story content will be added to the game, there’s been no official word yet, so New Game Plus is the only way to get more out of it for now.
Spider-Man 2 is expected to be released on PC in 2025, so gamers who don’t own a PS5 may have to wait a little longer as well.
There have been rumors that a half-sequel (like Spider-Man: Miles Morales) is in development, but nothing is official until it is.
