During its panel at this year’s Sakura-Con event, Bandai Namco Filmworks made an exciting announcement.
They revealed that the Gundam Seed Freedom film will be screened in theaters across the U.S. and Canada on May 7-8, thanks to their partnership with Fathom Events.
The Gundam Seed Freedom film is scheduled to be screened in Japanese with English subtitles on May 7 in both countries, and an English dub will be shown on May 8 in the U.S.
Mark your calendars for April 5, when tickets will be available for purchase.
The screenings of Gundam Seed Freedom will include a video message from the film’s director, Mitsuo Fukuda.
Bandai Namco Filmworks is excited to announce the upcoming U.S. premieres of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM film with English subtitles in both Los Angeles and New York City on Sunday.
Gundam Seed Freedom Screening
Japanese cast members Sichiro Hoshi and Rie Tanaka will participate in a special talk show before the Los Angeles screening at the Regal L.A. Live Theater.
Joining them will be the dub producers Michael Sinterniklaas and Stephanie Sheh, who also lends her voice to Lacus Clyne in English.
The New York City screening will take place at Japan Society, featuring a talk show with Alyson Leigh Rosenfield, a member of the English dub cast, and a special comment video from Director Mitsuo Fukuda.
The Japan Society is also hosting a screening for the English-dubbed version on April 1.
The film premiered in Japan on January 26. The film is set to be shown in 56 countries and territories.
The film project is a part of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Project ignited initiative, which was announced in 2021.
The initiative celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original Mobile Suit Gundam Seed anime in 2022, and it consists of multiple components.
In addition to that, there is a brand new game based on Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and an accompanying side-story manga called Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse.
