Anime Times shared exciting news on Instagram, revealing that the television anime adaptation of Kenichi Kondō’s Dark Gathering manga is now available on Amazon Prime Video in India.
Dark Gathering made its debut on July 9. Muse Asia streamed the anime in India simultaneously with its release in Japan.
The Dark Gathering anime features Yū Sasahara as Yayoi Hōzuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Keitarо̄ Gentо̄ga, Kana Hanazawa as Eiko Hо̄zuki, and Rina Kawaguchi as Ai Kamiyo..
The anime was directed by Hiroshi Ikehata, known for his work on FLCL Progressive, Kiratto Pri☆Chan, and Space Battleship Tiramisu. The production was handled by OLM.
Shigeru Murakoshi, the supervisor of the series scripts, and Shin’ya Segawa, the character designer, worked on the project. Kohta Yamamoto, Shun Narita, and Ysuke Seo were responsible for the music composition.
Additional members of the staff include Taijirō Nagata as the art director, Yuho Ando as the director of photography, Takahiro Uezono as the 3D director, Ritsuko Utagawa as the color designer, and Kōhei Yoshida as the sound director.
Dark Gathering: Story
The manga focuses on Keitarō Gentōga, who possesses the unique ability to communicate with spirits. During junior high school, he unintentionally involved someone in a spirit possession incident, which led to him becoming a shut-in for over two years.
Upon reentering society as a private tutor, he has the pleasure of meeting Yayoi Hōzuki, a brilliant young girl.
Yayoi quickly recognizes Keitarō’s talent as a spirit medium and extends an invitation for him to join her at a haunted location.
The two embark on their adventure, capturing malevolent spirits along the way.
Kondō debuted the manga in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine in March 2019. The English release of the manga is being handled by Viz Media.
