The original manga revolves around Sakamichi Onoda, an otaku at Sōhoku High School.

He adores anime and games to the extent that he would cycle to and from Tokyo’s Akihabara shopping district, a 90-kilometer (about 60-mile) round trip over steep slopes, after school.

Onoda’s life takes a turn when he comes across his school’s cycling team, leading him to join the competitive world of bicycle racing. Yen Press will be releasing the manga in English.

There have been many anime and live-action adaptations based on the manga.

The television anime adaptation of the manga’s first season debuted in 2013.

The second season, debuted in Japan in 2014 and concluded in March 2015. The third season premiered in January 2017.

The fourth season premiered in January 2018. Crunchyroll aired all four seasons as soon as they were released.

The fifth and latest season premiered in October 2022.

Crunchyroll broadcasted the series as it was being shown.
