Fate/Strange Fake Novels End

The latest installment of Ryohgo Narita’s Fate/Strange Fake spinoff story announced on March 8, confirmed that the series will conclude with its upcoming volume.

In his afterword, Narita mentioned that he made some adjustments to the finale of the novels. This decision came about when he chose to write the story of the ninth and final volume simultaneously.

Narita, the author of Baccano! and Durarara!!, initially released the Fake/States Night story as an April Fool’s prank in 2008. Narita later expanded the story into a Fate/Strange Fake supplement for the Type-Moon Ace Vol. 2 magazine.

This eventually led to the launch of a complete light novel series in January 2015, featuring beautiful illustrations by Shizuki Morii. Morii has also been working on the manga adaptation at the same time.

A television anime special titled Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- was announced at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 in September 2022, following the inspiration from the novel.

The airing originally planned for December 31, 2022 had to be postponed due to production issues.

The anime made its English dub world premiere at the Anime Expo on July 1, 2023, and was then broadcast in Japan on July 2. You can now find the special on Crunchyroll with an English dub.
