Call of Duty Gundam Crossover Cosmetics Leaked

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players are getting a sneak peek at the games’ upcoming crossover with the iconic Mobile Suit Gundam mecha anime series thanks to new leaks.

New Call of Duty skins based on the titular Gundam mecha will be added to the crossover in Season 4.

Given that Call of Duty is one of the most played video games worldwide and a cultural phenomenon in and of itself, brand partnerships make sense. The same is true of Gundam, a series that defined a genre and has several mecha anime contenders.

As well as leveraging the fact that Call of Duty’s enormous fan base undoubtedly includes Gundam fans, Bandai Namco, the game’s owners, are eager to raise awareness by introducing Gundam’s distinctive ideas and graphics to people who might not have otherwise given it a chance.

The Gundam series that will be referenced in the Call of Duty Gundam crossover have now been revealed via a leak from the Call of Duty news account CharlieIntel.

Along with other changes planned for Call of Duty Season 4, the leak features promotional photos of the three new operator skins with a Gundam theme.

The leak indicates that instead of just reproducing the exact models as they appear in different Gundam anime series, the three Call of Duty Gundam crossover skins will have an altered appearance.

Call of Duty Gundam Skins are Based on Mobile Suit Gundam and The Witch From Mercury

The leaked promo pictures look like the Gundam skin that was posted on the official Call of Duty social media accounts, but it hasn’t been confirmed to be true yet.

Much like how the Space Marine outfits were essentially the same for the Call of Duty and Warhammer 40K crossover event, the Gundam skins combine the “tactical” style of Call of Duty with the brightly coloured mecha red silhouettes.

Along with the armour and helmets from the show’s mecha, gear like gun belts, pouches and weapon harnesses are worn under the costumes.

Instead of their real battle gear, they kind of look like huge soldiers dressed up in fancy Gundam cosplay costumes.

The red MS-06S Zaku II was used by Char Aznable, Amuro’s enemy, and the RX-78-2 Gundam was commanded by Amuro Ray in the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam anime series.

These two skins are based on those mobile suits. The third skin was made to look like Gundam Aerial, the main Gundam from The Witch From Mercury.

The weapons in Gundam skins are also based on real weapons. It comes with a bright pink Beam Sabre and a shield that looks like the Gundam’s signature red shield with a star on it.

Two guns and the Zaku’s “Heat Hawk” axe get bright red paint in the Zaku II pack. With the Aerial pack, you can change the look of a second shield, sniper rifles, and assault rifles to look like them from The Witch from Mercury.
