For a limited time, Diablo 4 players can dive into the March of the Goblins event, running from August 27 to September 3. During this event, Treasure Goblins will spawn across Sanctuary in increased numbers, giving players a fantastic opportunity to farm high-level gear and crafting materials. Slay a Treasure Goblin, and you’ll receive a treasure bag packed with Legendary gear, materials, and even a chance at items with Greater Affixes.
How the Event Works?
Treasure Goblins are far more common throughout Sanctuary during this event. They spawn across various activities, particularly in:
- Open world zones
- Helltide events
- Greed Shrines
- Avarice World Boss fights
Defeating Treasure Goblins grants treasure bags that drop iLvl 925 gear, making it a great way to equip your alternate characters with powerful items. Simply pass the treasure bags to your alts, and they’ll get max-level gear instantly!
Where to Find Treasure Goblins?
Open World Exploration:
- Roam around on horseback to quickly find Treasure Goblins. Most zones have a couple of them wandering around, so explore freely.
- Helltide and Legion Events also have increased Goblin spawns, though note that these are not instanced, so you’ll be competing with other players.
Greed Shrines:
- Greed Shrines are temporarily boosted to spawn multiple Treasure Goblins while active. If you kill enemies fast enough, you can spawn 3-5 Goblins per shrine.
- Farm these efficiently by using the “Extra Shrine” affix on Nightmare Dungeons (T46+), which increases the chances of encountering Greed Shrines. This method also helps level up your Glyphs.
Avarice World Boss:
- During the event, the Avarice World Boss spawns Treasure Goblins whenever it gets stunned. Defeating Avarice will release a small army of Goblins, making it one of the most efficient ways to farm treasure bags if the boss is active.
Best Strategies for Farming Goblins
Horseback Roaming: The fastest method for most players is simply riding around Sanctuary to spot Treasure Goblins in open-world zones.
Helltide Events: If you’re up for a bit more competition, Helltide zones are great for concentrated farming, though you’ll be sharing Goblins with other players.
Greed Shrines in Nightmare Dungeons: For those with strong builds and plenty of Sigil Powder, focus on farming Greed Shrines in T46+ Nightmare Dungeons. Activate the shrine and go on a killing spree to spawn multiple Goblins, leveling your Glyphs in the process.
