The Drifter is a Japanese action fantasy series, although this series also comes popular manga series. The manga was created and illustrated by Kouta Hirano.
The manga was first published on April 30, 2009, and later being adapted as an anime series year after its first publication the anime series Drifter premiered on October 7, 2016.
And after the release, in the first season, the publication released a special OVA episode for the fans, and after watching that fans are still demanding and vigorously waiting for the second season of the show. And with the immense popularity of the show, the show gained a lot with that.
Drifters Season 2 Release Date
As I said above the first season of the show was premiered on October 7, 2016, and finished on December 23, 2016, which was consisted of 12 episodes total and it was being announced that the new season which was hinted at in the last episode of Drifter season 1: to be continued in the second.

It’s been almost 4 years, so I think we need to just wait for the new season to come up and as for the new volume, the manga creator is working very hard, though we don’t have any official news about the second season of the show as we predict the show can happen anytime soon in 2021 or maybe in 2022 for fan the sequel of the show was the most guaranteed thing and that will be surely going to happen. Drifters Plot
The plot was based on a historical theme in which the story revolves around the character named Shimazu who is also part of the war that took place on October 21, 1600.
In the battle in which he stacks his life on the line and gets critically injured where he tries to escape the battle wounded and bleeding, and he was suddenly found himself transported into the modern world to a modern-day corridor.
When Shimazu wakes up, he was blank at that position after all he was in shock when he found himself in a strange world filled with fantastical beasts and people. And with an interesting fact, he found some other warriors from his time who were dead in his world.
And in the modern world, he found other two main characters of the series who also transported from the ancient world to the modern world like him who are infamous warlord called Nobunaga Oda and an ancient, legendary archer called Yoichi Suketaka Nasu who befriends him very quickly.
And later on, he becomes a great warrior in the new world and becomes a new warrior to be part of a group called “Drifters” who carries the responsibility of the world to be in peace.
Drifters Characters
Like most of the anime, this series also has dozens of characters that created the whole scenario that we have enjoyed so let’s discuss some important characters.
Shimazu Toyohisa
Shimazu is the main character of the show and in Drifters, he is a samurai for the Shimazu clan in Japan.
In the show, Shimazu gets transported into another world and becomes a part of Drifter, and becomes determined to save an oppressed people.
Nobunaga Oda
Nobunaga is the powerful lord of Japan in history and he was very powerful in the 16th century and conquered most of Japan during the late Sengoku period.
He becomes one of Shimazu’s first allies in the fantastical world and is one of the most important characters in the show.
Yoichi Suketaka Nasu
Yoichi is also one of the main characters of the show as he is also a historical figure from the world where Shimazu is a samurai who fought alongside the Minamoto clan in the Genpei War.
He is a very skilled archer in the show and takes lots of enemies down from the ranges.
