Vinland Saga Season 2: Release Date

Season 2 of the Viking animation series Vinland Saga has received a release date and worldwide streaming partners.

Vinland Saga has been around for quite some time, believe it or not. The manga has been going since the beginning of 2005 before Studio Wit made the great anime version that we all love.

Makoto Yukimura wrote and illustrated the Vinland Saga, and while he has created other manga such as Planetes, none have been as successful as his Norse tale.

Consider 2019 to be a fantastic year for anime enthusiasts, with one of the best new series to debut globally in recent years – the epic Viking tale of Vinland Saga.

The series has nearly everything an action anime fan could want: well-choreographed combat sequences, excellent character development, and probably one of the best-written villains of all time – not to mention a wonderful opening song by Survive Said The Profit.

Since its debut, the manga has been released monthly, and its chapters have been collected into 26 volumes.

Over 5.5 million copies have been sold, and with so much source material available, it’s difficult not to want a Vinland Saga: Season 2 sequel.

Vinland Saga’s first season premiered in 2019 and consisted of 24 visually appealing episodes, but that’s to be expected from the animators behind Attack on Titan.

The anime has received critical acclaim since its release, and with so many unanswered issues from the previous episode, viewers can’t help but wonder when Vinland Saga: Season 2 will arrive.

Now, more than two years later, we finally know Thorfinn’s fate and what the future holds for Vinland Saga, as the release date and streaming platforms have now been confirmed for season 2.

Fortunately, the anime’s future has already been decided thanks to its devoted fan base and outstanding reviews, so here’s all you need to know about Vinland Saga: Season 2.

When and Where to Watch the Season 2 of Vinland Saga?

The second season of Vinland Saga was announced in July 2021, and it will start airing on January 9, 2023.

It has also been revealed that there would be 24 episodes, which means that many manga chapters will be addressed.

According to a press release and a blog post, the series will be simulcast broadcast on Crunchyroll for viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.

Netflix Asia will also be simulcasting the series’ second season; specific release dates for these platforms have not yet been confirmed, although expected for January 9 as well.

Studio Wit was supposed to reanimate Vinland Saga: Season 2. However, the project has already been taken over by Studio MAPPA.

The season’s official trailer is currently available on YouTube and Crunchyroll, but that’s not all.

A major image portraying the new tale characters has also been published to liven things up. By the looks of it, MAPPA does Yukimura’s manga art justice.

What Is Vinland Saga: Season 2 About?

Because the first season covered the full War Arc, from Thorfinn’s terrible youth to Askeladd’s unexpected death, we expect Vinland Saga: Season 2 to cover the entire Slave Arc of the manga.

Thorfinn is sold into slavery at this point in the manga as punishment for attacking Prince Canute.

Thorfinn outraged that his life’s mission, to kill Askeladd, had been stolen away by a foolish prince, began throwing his hands in every direction.

Thorfinn meets Einar while being enslaved, and the two strive together to liberate themselves from their unpleasant situation.

Canute, on the other hand, has now ascended to the throne, and he sets his idea of creating a utopia on Earth in motion.

It’ll be great to see such an emotional aspect of the plot unfold in Vinland Saga: Season 2, so mark your calendars for January 2023, as that’s when you’ll see Thorfinn again!

A new millennium begins in the southern part of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark.

After the death of his longtime enemy, Askeladd, Thorfinn lost his purpose in life.

He was bought by the landowner Ketil as a “slave” and engaged in land reclamation work on his farm.

Thorfinn meets a young man there, Einar, who was also a slave like him.

The encounter with Einar led Thorfinn to face the sins he had committed and began to find meaning in life.

On the other hand, Canute, who became the King of England, attempted to extend his territory for the establishment of “the promised land”.

This is “The Story of a True Warrior (Saga)”.

“The story of Atonement and Salvation (Saga) “lies beyond the prologue.
