Tears of the Kingdom brings back the idea of Master Sword and its rusted and refined states having an active role in the story. This steady necessity of the weapon in the subsequent generations as a reminder follows the lore from Skyward Sword.

The Return of Goddess Statues and Shrines

Fans are still abuzz with the apparent use of Goddess Statues in Tears of the Kingdom, referencing Skyward Sword. In the latter case, these statues helped to advance the plot and increase the Link’s equipment.

In Tears of the Kingdom, they return to assist Link improve his health and stamina of his as well as his physical strength as well. Just like in Skyward Sword, Tears of the Kingdom establishes a strong link between the terrain and above it. In both games Link moves frequently between the surface world and the heavenly level and that bisects the world is underlined.

Whether it be by jumping out of a plane, whether it be exploring a new set of islands, whether it be unlocking new mysteries and secrets in each realm, Tears of the Kingdom is very reflective of this from the previous edition.
