Strategy
Do not get bogged down during hunting or spot a good pathway, just keep on the move.
Zora Armor
Provide Zora Armor to swim much quicker so that Zora can face and dodge the chaser shark.
Splash Fruit or Water Ability
Neutralize Shadow tentacles by using Splash Fruit or Water element techniques so that you can hit Mucktorok’s shark shape and make him retreat.
Phase 2: Chase Mucktorok and Deal Direct Damage
Follow Mucktorok
When it dismounted, Mucktorok will be in a smaller form, which will make it easier to defeat although you opted to leave it lying flat on the ground after the scene transition.
Closing the Gap
Just be careful not to use Zora Armor or a quick burst of speed to chase him down before he reforms the shark.
Melee Damage
Defeat him on the ground before he flees.
Rinse and Repeat
Keep on knocking him off his shark and chasing him until you can use enough blows to put an end to the first part.
Phase 3: Stop Mucktorok in Larger Sludge Shark Form
Larger Shark
The last phase, and it turns into an even larger Mucktorok – a scarier shark.
Use Sidon’s Water Shield
To clean the muck quicker use Sidon’s ability in water shield to deflect the attacks towards her.
Final Strike
Keep attacking Mucktorok with splash-based items or water abilities to stun or knock him off the shark and then the battle is best finished by hitting him with physical weapons.
Key Preparations for the Mucktorok Fight
When venturing to fight Mucktorok, there are a few things needed that will make the battle significantly easier when it is first approached.
Equip the Zora Armor
Swimming through waterfalls and faster swimming are obtained when wearing Zora Armor, crucial in the fight with Mucktorok. This armor minus the distance that is to be covered to get closer to Mucktorok.
Collect Splash Fruits
Splash Fruits can be purchased in any store in the game and are used for cleaning the area Mucktorok slurps with his tongue. Buy these before going to the fight.
Unlock Sidon’s Water Ability
due to its great importance in the combat against muck, Sidon’s water ability is vital to controlling the big parts of the battleground. But before trying to battle the Water Temple, make sure the protagonist has control and subsequently awakens this power.
Bring Health Restoratives
As you will be taking a beat down from Mucktorok, it would be wise to carry with you foods or elixirs that are known to restore your health.
Tips for Winning the Battle of Mucktorok
To counter Mucktorok, positioning, and arena awareness are the solutions for overcoming the opponent’s accusations. This way of movement will decrease damage and force Mucktorok to be on the defensive side as well.
Avoid Muck Puddles
You get these flat surfaces in the game created by Mucktorok that wades and slow your movement making it uncomfortable to try and pursue the creature or dodge his attacks. Splash Fruit helps remove the puddles on the field or jump over them if you want to avoid getting into these.
Use Water to Your Advantage
Make good use of the watery parts of the region in the arena to swim about rapidly in Zora Armor. This makes it easy for you to navigate the playing field and avoid traps or be caught easily when you least expect.
Stay on the Offensive
Once you’ve blinded the menace and successfully knocked Mucktorok out of his shark form, never let the brute try to slip away. Run and try to attack him as fast as possible before he forms his next shark mount.
Timing Is Everything
It becomes very important to identify when Mucktorok attacks, so one can avoid it effectively. Pay attention to his movements and as soon as he begins to aim at something, make sure you are going to be behind Sidon’s water wall.
