Geoff Keighley, the host of the Game Awards 2022, introduces all of the nominees who will be evaluated at this year’s event.
The entire list of nominees for Game of the Year and other categories for the Game Awards 2022 has been published.
In the run-up to The Game Awards on December 8, the jury will vote on each category, and the winners will be announced.
A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are the six titles nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022.
The two games with the best chances of being named Game of the Year are Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, which are the year’s two highest-rated new video game releases.
Elden Ring’s reviews are slightly higher than God of War Ragnarok reviews at the time of writing, with Elden Ring’s overall rating at 95 and Ragnarok’s at 94.
While Elden Ring has a higher overall rating than God of War Ragnarok, Ragnarok has more award nominations this year, which may give it the advantage.
At this year’s Game Honors, God of War Ragnarok has been nominated for ten awards, while Elden Ring has been nominated for seven.
Horizon Forbidden West is also nominated for seven trophies, so it could cause an upset.

This year, there don’t seem to be any big games that didn’t make the list for Game of the Year, but some people may be confused by how the list is made.
After all, some important games aren’t even out yet, so they’re not eligible for awards in the year they’re released.
This includes titles like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which will be available exclusively for the Switch later this week, horror game The Callisto Protocol, which will be available on December 2, and Firaxis’ Midnight Suns strategy games, which will be available on the same day.
The Game Awards’ failure to include titles released near the end of the year has long been a source of contention, and this year’s ceremony is no exception.
In any case, fans may tune in to The Game Honors 2022 on December 8 to discover which titles receive which awards, as well as watch all of the key announcements and world premiere trailers.
