Is Tokyo Ghoul Good?

Tokyo Ghoul, a horror/action anime series created by Sui Ishida, was one of the most popular Seinen action anime series of the 2010s.

It has some of the best action sequences and character development, as well as an amazing soundtrack, making it an excellent anime.

Kaneki Ken is the main character of the series, and he barely survives an encounter with a ghoul.

After the encounter, he realizes that he has transformed into a half-ghoul. After being transformed into a half-ghoul, he encountered numerous challenges.

In an unexpected turn of events, Kaneki is saved by the mysterious waitress Touka Kirishima, and thus begins his new, secret life as a half-ghoul/half-human who must find a way to integrate into both societies.

There are many reasons why Tokyo Ghoul is good, but here are a few of the more important ones.

Unique Plot

The plot of Tokyo Ghoul is exciting and unusual. As a result, the series maintains its momentum and holds the audience’s attention until the finish.

The plot portrays a world where humans are constantly afraid of ghouls. A ghoul is a creature that resembles a normal person but survives by eating human flesh.

They keep their real nature hidden from the general public by living in secrecy.

Kaneki Ken, a shy college student who is nearly killed in an attack by one of these ghouls, becomes a half-ghoul after receiving an organ transplant from the ghoul.

Now, Kaneki has no choice but to live his life as a half-ghoul/half-human after realizing what has happened to him.

There is also an Organisation CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul ) who hunts and exterminates any ghouls they come across.

According to CCG, Ghouls are the greatest threat to humanity, and that is why they exterminate all Ghouls to protect humanity.

This series also has aspects of mystery and horror to grab the viewer’s interest.

Well written Characters

Another reason Tokyo Ghoul is good is that its characters are well written, which makes the series more interesting.

Tokyo Ghoul would not have become so loveable if it didn’t have such a diverse cast of well-written characters.

The best thing about its characters is that none of them is either good or evil. Several characters in the series have morally grey(a character who is halfway between good and evil) characteristics.

They are Grey because each character in the series has their own set of ethics and principles that they believe are correct.

At first glance, the ghouls in this case would appear to be evil because they feed humans flesh.

You could easily classify the CCG (Commission for Counter Ghoul) as Heroes because they hunt and exterminate ghouls to protect humanity.

However, this is not true because the characters are not as simple as you might think. After all, it is not a typical shonen where characters are simply written.

In the series, You come to empathize with some of the ghouls because they are trying to learn to coexist with humans peacefully.

Whereas some CCG members Exterminate and hunt ghouls for pleasure and as a duty to earn money.

Incredible Soundtrack

Tokyo Ghoul is also known for its incredible soundtrack. This series knows when to pull your heartstrings through their music.

Yutaka Yamada, the composer of the original music used throughout the Tokyo Ghoul anime.

Yutaka Yamada is a brilliant composer, as we can see from his work. “Light Up the New World” from Death Note and “KINGDOM” from Bleach are two of his well-known pieces.

An anime’s opening theme is almost as important as the series itself. The opening establishes the tone, conveys the mood, and informs the audience of what they are about to see.

TK, the vocalist and guitarist of the band Ling Tosite Sigure, composed the opening theme Unravel. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest anime opening themes of all time.

The lyrics are about Kaneki Ken, who is having a hard time figuring out who he is. The song serves as a turning point for Ken as he finally accepts himself.

It has everything a good opening should have. It’s engaging, emotional, relevant to the series, and, ultimately epic. Even today, Unravel is regarded as a classic.

Gory Action sequence

Tokyo Ghoul is also recognized for its gory action sequences and brutal fights. In the series, we show several violent and brutal fights.

Whether it’s CCG versus Ghoul or Ghoul vs Ghoul. it’s correct to conclude that almost every named character gets into a fight at least once. This is something we don’t see very often in other anime.

In Tokyo Ghoul, the fight between Kaneki and Jason is the best and most popular action sequence. This duel takes place after Kaneki has been tortured by Jason.

This fight is well choreographed and edited, and the use of the opening soundtrack represents a watershed moment in Ken’s life when he finally accepts himself.

That makes the action sequence more thrilling to the viewers. Another reason for its popularity is that it is the first time viewers see Kaneki, a shy young boy, transform into a badass.

Generally, people watch anime for the plot, characters, action sequences, and so on. If none of them is particularly impressive, people will watch an anime with stunning visuals.

The Tokyo Ghoul series is a visual feast in its style. Everything in the series is done meticulously and with a great deal of attention to detail.

Tokyo Ghoul also put a lot of effort into the design and animation of its characters. That is the most crucial aspect of anime.

The way Tokyo Ghoul animates all of the horror and gore sequences throughout the series is incredible.
