With the Honkai Star Rail 2.5 update coming soon, players are looking forward to finding out about the new content and above all else, the rerun banners. According to the latest Honkai Star Rail 2.5 leaks, for the first time, two of the RTA limited 5-star characters, Kafka and the Black Swan, shall be back in the first half of the patch.
Kafka and Black Swan Reruns
According to leaks from HSR Team Mew, the Honkai Star Rail 2.5 update will feature reruns of two 5-star characters in the first half:
Kafka

The Nihil-element Lightning-branded character, Kafka specializes in what is known as DoT – damage that enemies suffer over time.
Black Swan

Another character of Wind-element and belonging also to Nihility Path, Black Swan is characterized by her ability to weaken the enemy’s stats and manage the field.
This is the only time there are two reruns and earlier updates only had one or no 5-star unit rerun in a banner. The presence of both Kafka’ and Black Swan’s characters now allows players to update their teams with these mighty heroes simultaneously.
Possible 5-Star Character Selection Feature

Besides the double rerun, Honkai Star rail 2.5 leaks suggest a new 5-star character selection screen in version 2.5 may also be possible. This system would essentially include a Kafka and a Black Swan banner, allowing players more control over which characters they wish to pursue. Even though some aspects are still under discussion, this feature could enhance the summoning experience and overall gameplay.
Consequences for the membership of teams
Black Swan and Kafka both are from Nihility Path having visibility in damage over time (DoT) compositions for teams. Their reruns are perfect for farming and building or improving DoT-focused heroes, which are very versatile say in most game modes. Talents, Tying has both characters allowing a player to dramatically increase his or her choice of strategies and overall combat ability.
Community Reactions and Expectations

The fans of the Honkai Star Rail have been hoping for a double rerun, and the new 5-star character selection feature is not an exception. People are waiting to see how these changes will affect the metagame and are bringing materials to call the heroes they like. The next version 2.5 livestream scheduled for global release on August 30, 2024, should offer the official confirmation of these changes, as well as more insights into them.
