Version 2.4 update of Honkai Star Rail was announced on July 31, 2024, and includes a series of new character banners and content that impress players from all over the world. This update, referred to as Honkai Star rail 2.4 banners, was divided into two phases, each representing a character banner different from the other, along with various events.
Phase One: Yunli and Huohuo Banners
The first phase commenced on July 31, 2024, at 11 AM (UTC+8), introducing two prominent 5-star characters: Yunli and Huohuo. Yunli, a Physical Destruction character debuts in this show, when Huohuo, the character currently represented by a Wind Abundance character is rerun. Accompanying them were three 4-star characters: Lynx(QA) is derived from Latin, ‘Quantum Abundance’ interpreting abundance in terms of quantum mechanics Yukong( IH) comes from Chinese and is a combination of ‘Imaginary Harmony Yukong Hanya(PH) is also derived from Chinese and is a combination of the words ‘Physical Harmony’. It offered the players many possibilities to develop their teams with new characters and such that have returned after some levels.
Phase Two: Jiaoqiu and Sparkle Banners
The second phase of the Honkai Star Rail 2.4 banners started on August 21, 2024, wherein Jiaoqiu, a 5-star Fire Nihility character, was the featured character along with the rerun of Sparkle, a 5-star Quantum Harmony character. This phase also included three 4-star characters: Arlan, also known as Lightning Destruction; Guinaifen, known as Fire Nihility; and Hook, known as Fire Destruction. This allowed players the opportunity to purchase these characters to further expand their strategies.
Light Cone Banners
In addition to the character banners, new Light Cone banners have become available following the release of version 2.4. In phase one, the bright light cones highlighted were ‘Dance at Sunset’ (5-stars, Destruction) and ‘Night of Fright’ (5-stars, Abundance); ‘Perfect Timing’ (4-stars, Abundance), ‘The Birth of the Self’ (4-stars, Erudition), and ‘The Moles Welcome You’ (4-stars, Destruction). Phase Two showcased the 5-star Light Cones “Those Many Springs (Nihility)” and “Earthly Escapade (Harmony)” as well as the 4-star Light Cones “Eyes on the Prey (Nihility)” “A Secret Vow (Destruction)” and “Poised to Bloom (Harmony).
Pre Failure, Installation, and Update Foot Print
To ensure the update to version 2.4 went smoothly, a pre-installation feature was included before the update happened. For those interested in the Honkai Star Rail 2.4 banners, installing the update on a PC required 21,580 MB initially and 46,365 MB for the full installation. Mobile players needed approximately 14 GB of free space, with minor fluctuations depending on the volume of voice line packs. This pre-installation process allowed players to download the update in advance, enabling them to access new content immediately upon release.
