With the announcement of the release date for the upcoming Gundam Breaker 4, 2024 continues to make the case for being the year of the anime and anime-related video games.
On August 29, 2024, the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC will all have access to the new Gunpla building series entry.
Early orders are now open and come with a lot of virtual goodies for potential buyers. Visit the official Sony PlayStation YouTube channel to see the trailer for the announcement:hu
Gundam Breaker 4 is the follow up to Gundam Breaker 3, which came out in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Vita. The entry did not make it all the way to the Asian market, which is crucial to remember. It had to be imported for anyone who wanted to play the game.
Instead, the West got New Gundam Breaker, which was a huge disappointment. Metacritic gives it a score of 43, and most critics agree that it is a disaster. The fact that Bandai Namco is trying its hand at a new localised entry after all these years is a welcome surprise.
Some of the main ideas of the popular Gunpla model-building hobby are used in Gundam Breaker, which makes it different from other Gundam games.
To make their own unique mobile suit, players are encouraged to use the different parts they get from defeating other mobile suits.
To put it another way, the loot you get can be used to your advantage when you go online or take missions.
Also, just like the real-life hobby, you can customise more than just adding parts to make a suit. Decals, painting, and weathering are some of the ways that users can make their Gunpla unique.
According to Bandai Namco’s website, users can also take their creation into the Diorama Mode, where they can make unique scenes with backgrounds and special effects for their models to pose in.
2024 Is The Year of the Anime Game
Gundam Breaker 4 will be another entry in what has already been a great year for anime fans when it comes out this August.
Fans of Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot have already received DLC in 2024. Also released at the same time as Sand Land was the first Jujutsu Kaisen video game.
Future Trunks will be the next Dragon Ball character to join Fortnite, it was announced this Thursday.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! In the run-up to its potential release in late 2024, Zero has received numerous character announcement.
