Goblin Slayer comes under the categories of dark fantasy and as a not light-hearted genre which is not much favored in the anime industry and this thing, we all that why the genre movie and series get our attention towards them.

The story is based on the Goblin Slayer light novel series written by Kagyu Kumo and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki. The light novel was first published on February 15, 2016. And after a gap of one month, the novel series adapted into manga series in May 2016.
Being novel at first, then manga and later involved converted to an audio format CD version. The manga was adapted as a Television series by the White Fox Production house which was premiered on October 17, 2018, and finished on December 30 in the same year.

Although the release of season 2 is expected in 2021 due to the pandemic it is not confirmed yet so the update could get delayed because of that.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Plot
Despite having lots of character in the show the story revolve around the two main characters of the show that are Onna and Goblin Slayer.
Goblin Slayer is a fantasy anime in which the fantasy world which has human as well as all sort the magical creature with them, which follow goblin as well.
After constantly giving humans hard time and stealing women to breed the treat of a goblin on humanity is increasing on the land. While goblins are known for their fierce and cunning attacks on humans and regarded as lowliest creature.
The show starts with the main character name Onna Shinkan she is a young priestess who joins a group of rookie adventure missions to rescue the women who are kidnapped by goblin from goblin nearby camps.
Being a rookie and team up with all rookies the adventure was not good and not adequate for the mission and their mission turns into a nightmare when they finally encounter the goblins.
However, Onna was saved by the Goblin Slayer from dreadful fate and thus begins Onna’s journey to end the goblin menace once for all. And the warrior in the group falls all around and the group is left paralyzed by a poisonous blade. Not only Goblin Slayer rescue Onna from the site very easily also left the camp.
Later it was revealed that Goblin Slayer holds a prestigious veteran silver-ranked adventurer whose only goal is to rid the land of the goblin infestation.
Because it was revealed that Goblin Slayer’s entire family was slaughtered by goblins, and after some initial hesitation Onna started to accompany him in his adventure along with High-Elf, Dwarf, and Lizard-man.
After that, the group off on a new journey and started an existing series on an epic quest to kill all goblins in the land.
