The crossover event between Fortnite and Metallica will have an effect on four large game modes. Wild crossover events are commonplace for Fortnite fans.
Fortnite has been responsible for everything, from famous movie characters like Darth Vader and Indiana Jones to now-popular artists like Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
The Marshmello concert live event, which was the first of many in-game gigs, was the event that broke the record for the number of players that Fortnite had in 2019.
Since then, the Icon series has added popular songs to the game as emotes, different artists have received their own skins, and more concerts have taken place on the Battle Royale island and in Creative mode. In terms of incorporating music into Fortnite, Epic Games was able to take things to the next level with the launch of Fortnite Festival, which is one of the team’s most recent game modes.
Players can purchase their favourite songs as Jam Tracks and play them on the Jam Stage at any time of the week or even during a match in this Guitar Hero-like mode.
With the launch of Fortnite, dozens of Jam Tracks have been added to the Item Shop, and a number of artists have been brought to the game through the Festival Pass or simply as skin collabs that have been released.
The fact that Metallica will be returning to Fortnite was already rumoured to be the case, but a teaser email has confirmed that some of the content that will be added to the game will be confirmed.
Although Master of Puppets, one of the band’s most popular songs, has been added as an emote, the upcoming collaboration will be on a completely different level.
What to Expect From the Metallica Event
- Concert featuring the six most popular songs
- James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert skins
- Thrash Mountain Rocket Racing circuit
- Metallica Loot Island
- Metallica Festival Pass
Metallica will perform at a concert in Fortnite, as stated in the promotional email, and the band will play six songs that are considered to be fan favourites during the concert.
In addition to this, each band member will receive their very own cosmetic skin and LEGO variant, a new themed circuit will be added to Rocket Racing, Loot Island will be based on Metallica, and the Fortnite Festival season pass will feature a significant amount of content related to Metallica.
It is possible that this collaboration will go live on June 11, which is the date that the next major update is anticipated to become available. The release date for this collaboration has not been revealed.
While waiting, players can begin honing their skills in Fortnite Festival by trying out all of the free featured songs that are made available every time the Item Shop is refreshed.
