In Final Fantasy XIV, overmelding is a procedure that gives players the ability to increase their stats beyond what would normally be possible by attaching more materia to their equipment than the available slots would normally permit.

The aforementioned piece of equipment will typically have a predetermined number of Materia slots accessible, each of which has a finite capacity.

You will also need to have the appropriate level of the crafting class in order to create that particular piece of equipment.
When new players question experienced ones about overmelding and pentamelding, the customary response from the latter is something along the lines of “Just go ahead and dump all your gil in the sea.”
It’s not something that should be approached flippantly at all.
You will have to travel a very long way in order to reach the rewards that you seek.
What’s The Point Of Overmelding?
Through the use of overmelding, you are able to increase the stats of specific pieces of equipment beyond the limits imposed by their available Materia slots.
